i was getting nice and thin before doin this same diet, but now i feel like im moving back up to the fat zone. I dont know what it is but here is my typical day of food. im keepin the same diet and stuff as before, im trying to keep my calories low around 2000-2500 sometimes i go under sometimes i go above. im 5'5 170lbs around 12-14%bf.

im quessing to cut out the cereal. I use to eat those big 100 protein bars in the morning or before the gym they are like 12g of fat 40carbs 30g of protein and 420 cals

Morning
1boost nutritional drink (240cal)
1cliff bar (240cal)
2 bowls of cereal frosted mini wheats (650+cal)

Afternoon
1 bowl of chili (480 cal)
Boost nutritional drink (240)

night
2 protein shakes(500 cal)
1 sandwhich turkey/ham/chicken breast/cheese(370)

as of today im only at 720 calories for the day because i need to go food shopping

im quessing to cut out the cereal and not buy any on my food shoppin run. I use to eat those big 100 protein bars in the morning or before the gym they are like 12g of fat 40carbs 30g of protein and 420 cals. i sometimes even eat 2 of those a day, but usually 1 so im guessing to cut those out of my diet to. but this is the typical day i sometimes eat less and sometimes i eat more then what i posted

my maintanence is like 2800-3000

You need to spread your meals and add some more food no g? 5 5 170 is thin as is at 12 14 % to me

i was recently 178.

anyway at 5'5 170 i find that pretty big please look up some professional bb at 5'5 170, if i were to loose weight to their level id be around 155 and at 4% bf at that weight would be pretty decent. take a look at these guys 5'5 in the 150s

the meals are spread as i didnt put down specific times i just put in certain daytimes in which i consume them.

Think the diet needs some work bro,

Replace all the carbs with low GI stuf (drop the bread) brown rice/ oats/ wholewheat pasta, I shoot for 250g a day (low), natty PB for cals+ fats, fibrous gre`en veg and flax powder for fibre to keep the food moving,
carbs aearly in the day and fats later, work out your macro's on fitday.com,

PM me if u wanna see my diet ill send it to ya

Boost???! Are you serious? My grandma drinks that shit bro. Please tell me you are not on cycle with such a horrible diet? Where is the meat and veggies??

LOL, but i have to admit i was checking out the back of a Slimfast Low Carb can the other day. They've come a long way apparently. I was almost tempted.

Oh shit dude, i just looked up boost and it's got 25 grams of sugar in it. Combined with your sugary cereal and the 12 grams of sugar per cup of milk and that's spare tire city!

I bet you are taking in almost 80 grams of sugar for your breakfast. You would be better off having a big bowl of ice cream.

Trash that diet and start from scratch. That needs to be your top priority.

And another one, those Big 100 protein bars have 25g of sugar a pop too. This is bad news bro. Drop that shit like a bad habit.

the problem is i cant cook, i only have a microwave. so im stuck with canned foods and shit i dont need to cook

im 5'6 at 167 about 10% bodyfat. so i can relate a bit. the reason you're feeling fat is because you're putting alot of sugar into your body and thats probably what making you fat(around the gut, atleast). ive been bulking with a shitload of clean foods and i still have abs. i have a progress pic somewhere on this site. the reason why those bodybuilders look that ripped at 5'5 and 150 is because they have a shitload of muscle that they put on in the off-season. i believe they could have bulked up to around 200 pounds and then cut down to 150. they put on a shitload of muscle, then they lost the fat on top of it. bodybuilders bulk with alot of food and cut with very little food. theres not really an in between imo (for bodybuilders at least, ITS ALWAYS TO THE EXTREME) they do whatever they have to do to get to that bodyfat percentage on the day of the show. EAT 6 MEALS A DAY, EVERY 2-3 HOURS, EAT AS MUCH CLEAN FOODS AS POSSIBLE, DO SOME CARDIO, AND THERE SHOULDNT BE A REASON WHY YOU DONT HAVE ABS. I HONESTLY BELIEVE YOU DONT HAVE ABS IS BECAUSE ALL THAT SUGAR IS BEING STORED AS FAT.

You don't have a stove? Seriously?

seriously, i just went food shoppin today, got some rice shitload of coldcuts, and some canned chili, and microwaveable chicken and mashed patatoes. the problem is the sodium, its pretty high but im not to worried about water retention

if u can find me good ass foods without the need of a stove then ill deffiantly get them

im going to get weight gainer or a meal replacement powder this week so that will help

and you cant cook? well go find a cookbook or look online for recipes because you have to learn how to cook to live this lifestyle. microwaved chicken doesnt seem like something i could eat for more then a meal or 2. buy a grill, it will be your best friend, if you cant afford it, buy a george forema grill for 20 bucks. throw some pepper, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, parsely, or basil on the chicken and grill it up. if you dont want to mess with different spices, check out some mrs. dash salt free seasonings. for someone who wants abs, you sure arent sounding like you're dedicated buddy. work hard, youll get it.

come on dude. you want abs and you arent worried about sodium? i mean, i dont but DAMN, cold cuts and canned chili is not in my shopping list whatsoever. processed meat and canned foods have alot of sodium man, just cut it out and eat some boneless turkey breast, get some beans instead of chili

ya i just recuded my sugars on this food run i just went on today, so ill see how it goes

i know what your saying, but for now all i can do is try to get shit that doesnt need to be cooked on the stove or grill. I actually know how to cook, but i just moved recently and i need a new stove

i cut down the sugars alot, but sodium went up :/

If your consuming 2000-2500 at your bodyweight, I would have thought you couldn't gain weight even with some dirty foods. I mean while food quality is important, cals in v cals out from experience is the most significant determinant of body weight.

Have you miscounted your cals?

Bro... I am about to give you the best advice you have ever got on this site. Go to Walmart and buy an electric Wok and a crockpot. Pick up Needto's cookbook and enter the Karma lotto. If you win I expect at least 1 million Kamra for providing you with this awesome info.

I cook almost everything in these two appliances and my charcoal girl. Throw a chicken or roast in the crockpot in the morning season that bitch up and let it cook all day. You will have some tender ass high protein goodness right there. Buy some 80/20 ground chuck. Throw that shit in the electric Wok. Brown it off, then strain it in your sink in a colander. You do have a sink right? Wash the meat in the sink for a few minutes then throw it back in the wok with some low sodium taco seasoning. You're left with virtually fat free ground meat (Red Meat Fuck Yeah!!!) that you can 200 different things with. Mmmm.... beef burritos in low carb tortillas... This shit isn't hard bro. You just have to look outside the box and get creative.

lol my mom use to cook me meals with the crockpot i hated that shit, but it would sound like a good idea to use one now since im stoveless, chicken never comes out right on the foreman its always dry on the outside and undercooked on the inside

Forman Chicken is haggard broly. You got to start eating better. Especially if you want to grow to your potential.

No more Forman Chicken!!!! Get an electric Work!!! You can saute up fresh veggies, then throw some boneless skinless chick cutlets in the mix. Boil up some brown rice in the microwave and you got yourself a good high quality meal made with REAL food. This is just an example bro. A wok and crockpot should be tools on every body builders arsenal.

I would skip the cold cuts. Anything that comes in a box or a wrapper is bad for you.

Stick with fresh (not processed) meats, canned tuna, Omega 3 eggs (cook these in your wok), fresh veggies (frozen and canned are fine. Watch the sodium), lower glycemic carb sources like old fashioned oats, brown rice, and sweet potatoes. Fruit is good for you and tasty too. Berries are your best bet. They are full of nutrients and antioxidants. Also don't forget the fats. ANPB, nuts like almonds, walnuts, pistachios, chasews, Avocados, and fish oil oil supplements. All this can be prepared with a microwave or wok. Everything listed should be a staple in every BBers diet imo.

Foreman chicken?

Chicken breast raw is low fat, so how is foreman chicken going to be deleterious diet wise?

Listen to Southern Lord..good solid advice!!!!;)

If you can't afford a personal chef you better learn to cook ASAP!!!
take a local cooking class, learn the basics, meet pretty girls:p...then throw out all the recipes you learned in class and cook from Needto's book!!!!

Southern, Im upset man! I was reading thru this thread, getting ready to drop some solid gold advice...an u beat me to it! LOL

Seriously, +1000 to that - get a slow cooker. Thats the answer. Stewing beef/ turkey/ chicken in with sweet potatoes/ brown rice. Add in some brocolli for fibrous carbs, some stock an your set. Perfect BB meal. Get some cheap electronic scales (like $10 on ebay), measure all your ingredients so you know the cals/ macros per serving (enter into fitday). Cook like 10 portions each time, buy some freezer bags and freeze them. Defrost in your microwave meal at meal time, easy!

On the plus side, this method of cooking saves me a fortune bro! My meals are like $2 each.

Also, powdered oats/ Natural peanut butter/ whey shake in the morning is a great hit of clean cals bro.

Lilj ur a good bro, PM if you want some easy slow cooker recipes.

As far as canned foods, tuna is the only meat I eat.
