Fed the homeless on Sunday

I worked from 7am to 1pm in downtown San Diego at a homeless shelter.

Started the day making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches... I made about... 300-400 of them... (think about that for a minute).

Then I helped some 4th and 5th graders with math problems.

Then I served coffee and milk to 1200 homeless people.

It was TIRING, I wouldn't have thought that, but being a desk jockey during the week I wasn't used to standing around and what not for so long.

It was a good thing though, met some very interesting characters, I am going to try to make this a regular thing for me.

Purely voluntary you fuck. Never been arrested or convicted of shit.

That mentality just plain sucks, no offense.

Some people aren't blessed with the same mental or physical tools that others are. Homeless people aren't homeless purely because they are "lazy".. most, if not ALL, didn't enjioy the lower middle class upbringing that I did.

the shelter i worked in had a lot of drunks and crackheads. it's hard to motivate to help someone when they don't help themselves
