Ferrari 575M

155 mph on Hardin Vally Road in Knoxville, TN

Wasn't even *close* to pushing the car to its limit.

I was in a truck tat was cutom made and had a purpoted 1000 horse power

the back tires WERE HUGE

when he punched it it felt like warp speed, I could barely move

whats crazy is that the engine was less than half the size of a normal cars

fastest car I've been inside of? My friend Jim's Chevy 454 SS truck. We sat in the bed and he just took off and started whipping around corners, it was awesome! We were only going up to 50 mph max though since we were on city streets.

Fastest ive ever ridden/driven? 120 mph in both my Ford Taurus and my Nissan Maxima. its tough breaking that barrier in a standard consumer car.

The fastest car I was ever in was a Ferrari F360 but we only went 45 mph. The fastest I ever went in a car was in a C4 Carrera and we were going 150. It felt like it could have done more. I didn't get to drive the Ferrari.

my buddies breathed on '77 trans am....154 mph on I-10....verified by LA state police radar.

the car owner (my buddy) was aiming the radar gun.

Kawasaki 900 with racing cam and other goodies ... but it was more like a motorcyle than a car.

Fastest car ever: F430 but we didnt go over 50mph.

Fastest I've ever driven: My friend's Mustang GT 2005 with straight exhaust line, headers, blower and AEM CAI (nice way to waste money lol), I reached almost 160mph. Felt her car wasnt even close to the limit.

My 1990 Mustang LX coupe. Speedo showed just over 165 MPH but I would bet about 155-160 MPH.

2003 GSXR1300R Busa.....about 200 MPH. Had more....:worried:

I have worked in motorcycles shops my whole life and that bike was my boss bike. It had a stoker motor, cam, 100 shot NOS, air shifter, stretched........etc..and ran a 8.44 in the quarter mile. True and crazy fast.

Fastest car was my 1973 Mazda RX3 13B monster port rotary (with 51mm IDA webbers).
Was naturally aspirated but still did 10.9 second qtr mile.
Every time you touched to accelerator, it'd wheel spin and lift the front doing a wheelie...
I miss it...

ok

Fastest car: my pappa's Z06. Accelerated like a rocket but I just barely touched the triple digits before I braked.

Fastest I've ever driven: about 145mph. It was in my heavily modded RSX (which my fiance now owns). It was on the new Interstate that runs between I-85 (south of Atlanta) and Columbus Ga. Steering started getting too light and the car was feeling floaty and it didnt feel safe to go any faster. That little Acura wasnt meant to do 150.

I bought it new
haven't changed the chip
165 is the limited top end
you can feel it

oh shit yeah those are fast rides. My little supercharged RSX even at over 400whp got reamed by a HKS Supra. WHOOOOOOOOOP! Seeya honey. I was like "what, who, where'deego? "

140mph my first college roomates camaro, he let me borrow it for the weekend so I had to see what it could do, had a little left.

I jumped a chevy s-10 blazer at 103mph a couple of times. I've also done a powerslide with a chevy 2500 towing a 7,000lb trailer at 60.

Cheers,

couldnt tell u what it actually works out to but just going fast isnt that much fun.... fast, on the brakes with your knee down... now THAT is fun :)

yeah fuck you
140 is mangeable mentally if the car is built for it
you get up around 160 and change and you're really moving
really moving
my cars at that speed are equiped,I can take my hands off the wheel and the car is "straight"

I've never owned a car capable of more than 115. I've been in, and driven, cars capable of much more, but I'm not gonna take that kind of chance in someone else's ride. I've nudged 100 in a Pantera, XJ6, 7-series, Maserati Khamsin, Maserati Bora, Ferrari 308GT4, Ferrari 275GT 2+2, Lamborghini Uracco, Alfa Duetto Spider, and '73 LTD 2-door.

you can live longer?
if you are of the opinion you die "thats it".no big deal
if you are of the opinion there's a divine intervention involved in your choices
well?

140 in a 99 Firebird, 6-speed LS1 with a procharger, fastest vehicle I have been in -passenger
130 in a 02 Vette - passenger
72' Nova ??mph the speedo only went to 120 and it was buried DEEP -passenger
130 in my 96 cadillac sts - electronically governed at that speed, didnt have much left

145 on my bike - 1990 Honda VFR750, pretty much topped out
looking to get a busa or R1 after I graduate

repainted her "glacial white" and took off the ghetto wing

The stock Supra wing is both stylish and totally legit. At the speeds you've driven it, you need that downforce.

Now the same wing on a '98 Civic would be rice.

Clients SL 65

170mph on the Tollway

The fastest speed in a car i have driven was 145 in my buddies G35

fastest car I've been in? my neigbours S4, though that day he didn't drive particularly fast.

Highest speed is with my current car, 148mph, basically everyday that traffic permits

It's a matter of ethics, not doing risky things with other people's property.

05 Ford GT Cobra Mustang 550hp....145mph. obviously capable of doing more....

however, ive raced many cars with my bike, and reached a top speed of 183mph on hwy 101 and 171 mph on PCH on the coast of california...Racing a Porsche 911SC turbo.

I had a Porsche 944 for 3 years but the fastest I ever drove it was around 120 mph once. on I95.

A Yaris can reach 125mph, I,m sure you could no matter your ride.

Agree, the wing is ugly but that's the Supra trademark. Both look are ok in my book. His car now looks more sleeper.

70 chevy truck with an 8 cylinder 350 engine. About 95 mph on country roads. In retrospect that was a bad idea.

85 Vette coming back from Florida to NJ on I 95. After 2 weeks of partying with about $40 left to our name. Me and my buddy went 151 on the digital speedometer, then slowed down to 60 mph and POWWWWWW! the rear tire disintegrated at 60. We got lucky that we had slowed down just before that happened or we'd be a distant memory.

It was a Saturday night and we're looking for a spare for a Vette tire! lol They're hard to come by with $40 in your pocket. The first gas station we went to had a used one that sold it to us for like $20. holy shit!!!! Good times.

Never again though.

That's awful!

Not the blowout ... the part about having to leave FL to go to NJ.

Ummmm ... yeah, I don't think so.

It does. I pushed a rental Yaris HB 3 weeks ago on the 401 in Ontario to 170kph (that's around 120mph) and the only thing that stopped me was the lack of straight line. Took me very long to reach 120 but still, the car can do it.

When I was 16 my sister let me borrow her Satellite Sebring Plus. Bad idea. I dont remember the year but I know it had a 383 in it and I remember it being a dog off the line. 140 with my buddy riding shotgun and three chicks in the back. It was pulling for more but I thought the hood was gonna come off so I slowed down. I'm a moron.

I know but I hated that wing
too rice
the move in auto styling is away from wings etc.
even w/o the wing I can go 160 on a straight course and take my hands off the wheel and she cruises fine
I have eibach springs and KYB struts and strut tower bars
thinking about adding TRD sway bars
but I'm parking her for 6 months
my auto insurance went up to 448/month

back when my supra was mostly stock
I lost a dual with a late model corvette
it was a friend of mine's and he's a lieutenant in the police force
the chick I was with was driving the supra as I was wasted
we had been at a popular police hang-out bar

my math says thats 105mph broham, thats where my car cuts off and my speedo reads 105mph when it kicks at 170km

Been in some decent cars, but the only one where I put my foot all the way to the floor and left it there was a '75 Honda Civic. Going slightly downhill in Arizona, and I just had to find out what it was like.

It got all the way up to 89. Still had some revs left on the tach but it just couldn't push any harder. I doubt it would go any faster than that even if I drove it off a cliff, Thelma and Louise style.

back in the 80's I had a college job transporting cars for a toyota dealership
on one occassion I had taken a vehicle up to knoxville
and was bringing an early 70s civic back
I had a date to make so I was pushing that civic
figured out what the hood vents were for
to allow the release of smoke when the engine blew

Oak got it right on the money:

I drove my friends moms Mercedez S500 AMG...I got it up to 120 before I pussied out and applied the brakes. But let me tell you that bad boy can fly

Ford factory built 1967 Cobra 427, my friend has it and we were on the interstate and in second gear going around 60mph when he flored it the back tires started smoking. It has 650hp and is beast

We speed all of the time at work. Technically, we are only sllowed to go 10 over the speed limit...... but we usually keep things 50-90 on city streets and 80-120 on the hightways. That's as fast as those stupid ambulance-mods will go. Now, sometimes we get lucky and get assigned to one of the older ambulances(Van-type). Thoses babies haul ass. We get over 120 on the highway. I know that isn't super fast.... but I get to do it on a regular basis.
As far as other cars when not at work: I love my grand prix but I think my Dodge Ram-Hemi could eat it for breakfast.

Fastest car was my uncle's 1970 Dodge Challenger with a built 440. We didn't go too fastbut did a few burnouts. I thought the front wheels were going to come off the ground.

Fastest I've ever been was on my 04 cbr1000rr. I got up to 176mph and got scurred.

Still, 105 is a whole lot less than 125+.

i was just sayin thats where mine cuts off,its quick but i wish it had the gt computer

My car:
1970 Chevelle 327 - 120 on 401 West racing my brother in his (faster) 70 Chevelle 350.

170 KPH in my 1989 Pontiac Tempest - LOL

brothers cars:
70 Chevelle 120 on the QEW.
1986 Firebird SE 180 kph on the Gardner Expressway, I lifted on that one because the car was not mine and it was brand new. Those cars went 140MPH on the track - good for a cheap un modified car that all the girls loved back in the day

My dad's Corvette. Lmao. It's freakin' fast though- 2004 Convertible stick shift. Fast enough for me, that is. I just like the way it looks. LMAO.

Embarassing .... I killed it in the middle of a major intersection and that wasn't too good. Haha.

1967 Ford Falcon....runs low 10's at the track....scares the crap out of me...pics in my gallery...Oh and it is for sale

fastest car I have been in was a SL 65 AMG (not mine the dealership I worked at) I think drove it maybe up 25 around a corner at the dealership

fastest I have been in a car BMW M3 around 150.

For all the BMW drivers, aren't all US models electronically governed for a top speed of 130mph?

That would make it kind of difficult to do 150...

no yossarian..

But they do have an electronic shift that alters the RPM on the newer models. They kind of bog down on the newer 3 series

regular bmw cars yes the magic number is 128mph (330ci 525i) etc

M cars are at 155 mph (M3, M5, M6)

Scariest was a 1971ish Autobianci. 90mph on the Autobahn with fuggin Mercedes up my ass, takin 15 minutes to passs a transport, LOL.

61 Chev cross-flag Impala bubble-top, 409/409, 4 sp with a 3.90 rear end and solid lifters, and dual point ignition. It ran 12's and was heavy and LOUD. Picture in gallery. I found it on a used car lot on East Jefferson, downtown Detroit. They came from the factory that way.

The 66 vette was fast too, but did not have solid lifters. I had to stay under 5,600 for shifts. I bought that new. I ran that on the street in the glory years.

I think that the fastest I ever went was in Italy and Germany..Them peoples drive crazylike..Enough to scare the shit out of me

lets see...the fastest I went was 120mph on rt.3 here in Jersey. I then got pulled over and proceded to take out about 10 construction cones because I was trashed. ...I didnt get a DUI but I did get 9 points on my license in one night. 5 for speeding that fast and 4 for reckless driving. the cops even pulled their guns on me...woo hoo. I was 21 at the time and that was the last time I went over 100mph. I cant afford to speed nowadays.

I forgot my other brother had a 70 Mach 1 (orange) and a W31 Olds Cutlass they both made your head snap back but not sure how fast they were. under 13 seconds anyway. In 1980 that was still fast on the street LOL
