does anyone else find it quiet hard to diet when your family members around you are eating all your fave stuff that you know you just cant have?

RE;

Thats a great idea, although my family will kill me coz they love food thats not diet food if you know what i mean :)

My roomate orders pizza like 3 times a week, he always orders out too, chinese or whatever, i used to give in and have just a lil bit, but now i dont, i say let him get fat , not me ;)

Comes down to willpower, but...

With my family, like when i go to my moms or sis's place, they are totally food junkies, they eat crrrrrrrrrap and bug me about what i eat, that's really hard to take, but then they lift my shirt to see where theres no belly lol or ask me to flex ;) Feels good.

My problem is pizza...I like it too much, and chocolate, and candy, and cakes, and, and , and...

I sometimes think that the attraction to these sweets is knowing that I 'can't ' have them. I wonder if I 'couldnt' have steak or chicken, if I would have the same cravings for them....
PROBABLY NOT!!!

I have found that TELLING everyone that I don't eat crap anymore (well, except for the recent binges :( ) helps a lot....they kind os hold me accountable. Such as "I thought you didn't EAT CAKE anymore...."

Pride is quite a motivator :rolleyes:

I either tell the cook what I can and cannot eat ahead of time, or do the cooking myself and live vicariously by watching everyone else eat. I made creme brulee last night (thank you Nigella Lawson!), and got my jollies by just smelling the stuff.

Having several recently-discovered food intolerances also helps keep me away from not eating clean - if I know that I'm going to feel physically ill after eating gluten, dairy, or some fish or nuts, I'm less likely to. It's also a good excuse when people are less than accomdating about dietary choices.

OHHHHHH _ STOP :)
