Fainting during workout

Hey..just had a question...hopefully somebody can answer it...
I just started working out w/a trainer 2x week. I have been out of exercising REGULARLY for ~5 years. On the days I train with her, the workouts are for an hour, but the past few times, we get into about 40 min. of it and I started feeling nauseated and feeling faint. The first time it got pretty bad, but I had never experienced the about to faint feeling before. The past couple of times I have stopped before it got to that point. But I don't understand why I feel like that. When I used to work out all the time (5 years ago), I never felt like that before. I do push myself a lot harder than I ever have before, though. I make sure I eat before I go...(I didn't that first time it happened)...but it still seems to do it. Could not getting enough water have anything to do with it? What could be causing this?
I appreciate any anwers y'all can give me...it's very frustrating having to stop a good workout because of this...

Is it a cold sweat and then light headedness? That's usually my sign that my blood sugar is low & its time to go and eat. What are you eating before you go? (Specificallly) and how soon prior to going do you eat and also do you have a reasonable set of meals already in prior to training? And finally, what does your trainer do about it? 2x / week isn't particuarly strenuous but it also isn't consistent enough to establish an 'daily expectation of exertion' in your body so when you do go in, it may be a heavy shock each time you do - i.e. you aren't conditioned to do that work out yet. Is your trainer giving you means to ease into the volume or exertion of lifting or just going straight in balls to the wall? And finally have you checked your blood pressure, etc? Do you feel your heart racing or gasping breathing?

IMO, it sounds like your blood sugar plummets. What is your diet like? Wha tdo you eat everyday? TIming of meals and workouts?
 
This happends to me everytime I have high GI carbs before a workout. What are you eating before your workout?
 
Sorry took so long for replies...been away from the computer a little while...the first time it happened, my workout was early and hate to say it, but i didn't eat anything...the other 2x, I had oatmeal, eggs and an apple, and it may have been ~30 min. before the workout. It seems to only do it when I train legs...We did upper body yesterday, and it didn't do it. And it doesn't do it w/cardio. I bought a heart rate monitor and even when we just do upper body, my heart rate gets to like 150-160. Is that normal? My blood pressure has always been fine...
let me know if u need more info...

such things are common with legs. pooling of blood because of location and pump, if you stand up quickly from the exercise, especially if you stand upright with knees locked back (common to take strain of worked muscle) not enough blood getting to the brain. simple physics
 
Along the same lines as "It wasn't a good leg day unless you puked" -- legs are bigger muscles and we tend to be able to work them harder than other muscle groups, often leading to a possible overexertion or exactly that headrush situation that macro is talking about. The obvious thing is if you haven't eaten anything and then train - there will be consequences - that's a basic 'nothing to run on' situation. But the legs I could see as well.
