I did...because 2008 Romney was a center right president. I didn't buy into the hope and change Obama peddled in 2008, but he has governed as a center right president for 4 years, during which time Romney bought into the tea party bullshit and moved to the retarded right.
That's the difference between sticking with your ideology (which IMO is respectable) and sticking with a particular party (which seems like immature sports fan bullshit).

The retarded part is that he was going to lower taxes with apparently no intention of cutting spending. He was going to increase military spending beyond what they even asked for.
I'm sure ryan and him would have made some tough cuts to entitlements, somebody is going to have to and it would appear they had they balls to do so.

It's inevitable now no balanced budget = sequester in jan. and they won't pass a budget. Which means unemployed troops which IMO is messed up cause he military is getting he biggest cut.

major reform is needed. Major cuts will have to be made everywhere, at least for a while.
America needs to go through something similar to a debt reorg/repayment plan like people do instead of BK.
The problem is that it's hard to cut entitlements once they've been given. No selfish bastard politician wants to risk their reelection by doing that. Forget about the good of the country, they need to keep their jobs. So they talk about making the rich pay for it. Problem is the rich know how to get around paying for it. So the middle class pays and slowly becomes poor, and then they vote for more entitlements. See where this is headed?
Going back to some of us living in reality while some of us dont....I would point out to you that, thus far, Obama has lowered taxes and his "reckless spending binge" doesnt exist:

and i've read that before, it's a good read and the various links paint a good picture...a picture IMO that doesn't absolve obama of creating debt.

Actually, the $ for the troops coming back is immune to the budget debacles.
You see, when the POTUS ran the executive order for veteran funding, he also put in a provision that even if there was a budget freeze, the VA will still get the $ anyways.

1. the VA is slated for 4 more billion dollars this FY. Potus and a couple GOP House members worked together to get this done.
2. I don't know where you have been for the past 15 years, but the military has been downsizing at a pretty constant rate since the 90's.
The Commandant of the Marine Corps, General of the Army, Chief of Naval Operations are the ones that decided the new stupid ass reasons to downsize their respective services.
If you have had any military time you would notice that the high ranking people don't stop ordering big shiny new cherry wood desks when they show up at new commands. Or don't stop ordering their business vehicles custom. ect ect.
If the budget was so important they would make due with what is there.

Spending it on Bullshit at the cost of a lot of good Servicemen/women's careers is a crock of shit.
Thinking of ways to waste money to make sure you get more / or the same amount of money next Quarter is the reason Why the Defense budget is so bloated.
