Egg Whites

Any of you drink raw egg whites? I am at the point where eating eggs just grosses me out. It only takes 1 second to slam 12 raw egg whites in a cup. Any of you done or do that?
 
you the the small risk of salmonella.Also raw egg whites block the uptake of Vitamin B6 (Biotin) causing a vitamin deficiency over the long haul.It actually avidin, which is found only in raw egg white that causes this problem.The biotin avidity of the protein is destroyed by cooking.
 
I chug em. A little Splenda and some vanilla protein powder. Not bad at all. I only drink em about 6 or 7 at a time. Never thought about salmonella -- but it could be an issue I'd imagine

I drink the egg whites that come in the carton. I checked -- and they are pasteurized ( heated to 130 degrees) which eliminates salmonella risk and actually makes the protein source more readily available as compared to a regular raw egg white. I think it's important info worth noting

Yep drink 750 ml to 1 litre a day lol. Pasteurised from the carton.

In my younger days i would just throw 4-6 in the blender with my shake when i was training for mass never had a problem i would suggesting sticking with a good name brand for that extra bit of security.
 
Egg whites international. Buy 4 gallons at a time and request the pump. Each pump is 1-ounce. They taste great. A little more expensive than a dozen eggs from the store but not much. They also go through a system to remove 99% salmonella chances.
 
After all the years, I don't know how you guys still stomach eggs.

I think I will pick up some cartons and just drink them raw.
 
pasteurized anything robs you of vital nutrition. remember that. its just like drinking pasteurized orange juice vs. freshly squeezed.. no comparison between the two both in taste and nutrition

swap in fresh free range/humane friendly eggs for those pasteurized eggs as much as you can. I just bought 2 dozen eggs today for $8.. humane friendly cage free.. absolutely delicious and easy to cook.

^^^^^^^i agree with this, although i've never tried the raw pasteurized, maybe i'll try that for a change every now and then

LOVED them!
 
Cup of liquid whites , 2 whole eggs and a slice of ezeikel bread cut up into my scramble eggs. Awesome. Like eating french toast

When I ever I get grossed out by my morning eggs (about every 3-6 weeks continuous) I'll swap out for 250ml pasturized carton of egg whites plus one scoop whey.

I would actuallly prefer this rought 100% of the time but I find when I only have a liquid breakfast I get ravenous about an hour later.

i love ezeikel bread! Always on my grocery list at trader joes!
 
I was able to get some from Egg Whites International and absolutely
LOVED them!

This is the route you wanna go.This is different then raw egg whites. You wont get sick from it and is 100% safe
 
To prevent a biotin deficiency have 1 yolk with approx. 4-5 whites. Although to me throwing away the yolks is a sin haha. Most of the goodness is in the yolk. When I have eggs I have 4-5 whole eggs and love them. I have drank them raw before but developed an allergy to raw egg. Therefore I would recommend breaks if you do drink lots of raw eggs. They taste 10x better from the fridge when drinking raw. This subject is debated all over the net and most have different opinions. I have researched it a lot. My conclusion is the optimal way to consume eggs is to partially cook the egg white whilst having the yolks raw. Although 90% of the time when I have them I boil them and have them with toast like when I was a kid (so yolks are runny but slightly cooked). I was reading an egg thread the other day and had just cooked some so took a pic. Very messy looking but this is what I love (dip the toast in)...

They don't usually look that messy! I usually fry and onion with cayenne pepper, salt and paprika. I do cherry tomatoes with salt and pepper. Some cheese too. That way I can make mini cheese and tomatoe sandwiches with the toast. The rest of the toast is dipped in the egg. If I don't cook them this way I will scamble them and cook that in coconut oil.
