Eating protein by itself?

While trying to dial my diet in over the past week or so I have noticed that when I have chicken or tuna alone, I get stomach cramps but my muscle feel fuller. This is usually about 25-30 grams
of protein per meal.

yesterday, I had the same meals but added a TBS. of oil (14 grams of fat) and did not have stomach cramps but my muscles felt a little defalted and I felt kind of fatigued about an hour ofter the P/F meal.

Why?

i dont know the answer to your question but i would be adding some carbs regardless of how i was dieting.

Thanks for the help. I do eat carbs for breakfast, pre workout and after my workout, consisting of oats, brown rice, and basmatti rice afterwards. It just seems that for my 3-4 snacks, the protein by itself reacts bad, I mean it is only about 24-30 grams per sitting.

I do do some reading last night about how protein alone will be converted to glucose slowly and could be very hard on the body unless a fuel source is combined with it, i.e. carbs or fat.

I will do some more studying on my own I guess and thanks again joe d.

I would add some green veggies and healthy fats with your protein only meals. Meals with single macros (only cho, only fat, only pro) are never really a good idea imo.

The green veggies are full of nutrients, fiber, and help with your PH balance. Healthy fats are important for hormonal balance.

Thanks for all the help. I just had a scoop of whey as a mid morning snack and added 1/2 a TBS of oil and it feels ok so far.
