I like to do dumbflies formy chest, but I read that is not advisable to go wiht heavy weight as it may cause injuries! Want to make sure that I use the right weight!

Do you use moderate weight or heavy ?

Do you use dumbflies as part of your chest routine?

I use heavy weight--well, for me it's heavy--but only for incline flyes. Regular DB flyes irritate my shoulder too much so I don't perform them. You're probably better off just skipping them entirely. The put quite a bit of stress on the shoulder joint, and it's questionable whether there is any real benefit to performing them. If you do decide to do them, just be careful and pay attention to any warning signs.

Basically a good judge of the weight you should use for dumbell weight is about a third or quarter of your incline weight. example incline bench 185, therefore I use about 40-60lbs dumbells. Try to get about 10-12 reps since these are not a power movement, if you can't get many done try less weight, since injuries are common on this tyype of excercise. (hint try using a little incline cause flat is very stressful postion of your shoulders).

Maybe I should try to avoid them as there is a chance for injury...

Are they considered a must for a good chest workout?
