Drinks Anyone?

Hello everyone.

I try to stay away from alcohol while I'm on a cycle, but every now and again it's damn hard to resist. What should I stay away from if I DO grab a drink? (beer, shots, mixes....)

LOL. Have you tried the Michelob Ultra (low carb beer)? I haven't and rarely drink anyway.... They're all empty calories, just depends how many carbs you want with them... I'd stay away from the shots/mixers that have cream though; no reason to add sat. fat, lol.

I'll probably get read the riot act; but as long as you're not on 17aa's; an ocasional drink won't hurt IMO, as long as you don't let it interfere with your training/diet. Also, IMO, if you're a wine person, a glass of red wine every now and then won't do any harm, and has some good stuff in it...
 
Michelob Ultra is awful. If you're a real beer drinker you'll hate that shit. Even if you're not you'll hate it.

I have a few beers every once in a while. And I mean a few; I don't mean I get wasted.

If you're trying to keep calories to a minimum I guess shots would be the best choice. But keep it in moderation.
 
Thanks a lot for the advice bros....keep it coming! ( I'm trying to gain weight on this cycle, but I've heard to stay away from booz. Is alcohol really muscle's enemy?)
 
DON'T DRINK ON D-BOL!!! I did this a few times and you will get the worst cramping ever...extremely painful. I don't know what you are using, but I'd assume with any orals stay away from the booze altogether.
 
If you want to get fucked up fast with out having drinking lots of beer go down and buy some everclear and your fav. drink Dr. Pepper, Hawiian Punch, Coke, or what ever you drink. If your not able to get everclear where you live then vodka works ok but it just has more of a taste. I had to do this for wrestling season to stay in my weight class. So I would mix about 5-6 shots in my hawiian punch and sip on it all night and get hammered...... :martini: TAPOUTM
 
i've read dark beer is better for you than regular beer (less empty calores...more protien i guess) ...but i do like the watermelon idea tiger! ...lol...
 
These are all great ideas. But do you actually drink these things while on a cycle? Thanks a ton for the input everyone!
 
my advice is to NEVER drink more than 2 nights out of the week(cuz you DO want to have a life also while you're on gear) and when you do, keep it moderate: just to catch a light buzz. also, make sure you drink 8-10 oz. water for every alcoholic beverage you consume during the night. for example, i love to go out once or twice a week and have my 3 amstel lights(285 cals total, 36 g of carbs total) with a few marlboros.ahhhhhhhhhhh! simple relaxing pleasures. the key is not to eat like a fat shit afterwards and stick to your diet. this is easy as long as you don't get drunk. enjoy your youth! we only live once! and try to get as much pussy as possible!!!!!!
 
also, i remember reading that alcohol negatively affects your body's ability to metabolize fat so i would wait 2-3 hrs after you drink before you ate anything cuz on average, it takes the liver 45min- 1 hour to convert 1 serving of alcohol to a non toxic chemical. make sure the meal is low fat, high protein,and moderate to low carb
 
If you really want the full effects of everclear, you need to administer it by I.V., now that is a buzz.

Now watch for a thread after the next weekend where some asshole has tried this.:)

Well, if you are trying to stay away from sugar, then you should stay away from mixed drinks and shots and go with low carb beer. BUT...think of it this way - look at all the beers you need to drink to get a buzz? 5, 6, maybe 8? now calculate the amount of beers by the carbs in it. Now how many shots will it take you for a buzz...one or two? Now calculate that by the carbs in straight alcohol. Compare. Now, with that being said, shots take a few seconds to drink and a beer could be sipped on for 10-15 minutes. Really depends on if you want a buzz or simply to drink socially. All alcohol turns straight to sugar (bad carbs of course). But I look at this way. Treat yourself for reaching a goal.

Don't think this is true.

Alcohol enters the blood stream directly without being digested. Then converted to acetaldehyde then acetate and finally to CO2 and water by the liver. None of the products of alcohol metabolism are a sugar or carb. In fact consuming too much alcohol can lower blood sugar levels.

Man why make your self miserable about the drinking thing if you want to go out and drink and have a good time once and a while it will be fine just don't do it every night thats when you start seeing it becoming a problem with building muscle and working out. All of my friends drink but we also train very hard. Go have fun you should have nothing to worry about.....TAPOUTM:garza:
 
Damn dude. I wish I could do that. Right now I probably average one to two nights of drinks a week. I just feel so small and shitty afterwards. Almost as if I'm starting over. ( I realize the small feeling is due to depletion)

I drink often. The worst thing I do to myself is get bombed and that effects your workout the next day.

My beer of choice is Amstel Light....low calories and tastes great. Stay away from the shots. And if you can try to drink cup of water between each drink you alcoholic beverage you consume. keeps you hydrated.
 
Sounds good to me guys....I'm avoiding the cell phone like the plague right now, because I know I'm being called off the hook to go out and drink.

I drink sugarfree redbulls and vodka. Mmmmm...for some reason I like the way anything that is diet tastes. And it's not sticky if you spill it! :D
