It's the Mentzer philosophy and it works.
The reason that some people fail to see results with this program is that their definition of "complete muscular failure" is very different than the true definition.
Yates was one intense motherfucker and he trained to COMPLETE FUCKING MUSCULAR FAILURE... Sometimes to a fault.
I've followed these principals for the most part for the past 15 years and I don't think I've ever spent more than 45 minutes in the gym during that time.
I do a number of good warmup sets and 3 sets to complete failure and split.
Once complete failure is achieved that early on, what's the point of spending another hour at the gym?
