Does Creatine Go Bad

SCHNiKEN

New member
I have an old bottle of creatine.. maybe a year to a year and a half old bottle that has been sealed in my closet. I want to start using it again but there is a date on it that says july 2001.. can i still use it.. it looks fine to me no clumps or anything.. looks like normal creatine powder..

wrong, the only thing that can happen is that it reacts with water and goes into creatinine which is not effective. just check if the seal is not broken and humidity has not come into the can, then it should be ok. i'd use maybe 50% more of the powder when its that old, my dont throw it away, that'd been really stupid.

Supplements don't really expire. As they age, they lose potency, but they don't become rancid. Generally speaking, any supplement kept in a cool dry place away from sunlight will still be fine to use 2 years after its expiration date. Anything past that is pushing it.

Creatine is fairly cheap. I would throw it out and replace it. I use ancient strength from n2bm.com and a 30 day supply is only $15.
