Do you guys perfer Lifting on your own or with a partner?

I much prefer a workout partner because I feel I get the most benefit out of forced reps and going very heavy.

Man, its a tough question to answer. A lot of problems finding a partener ie. same strength same motivation promptness dependancy, fire, goals, synch, how well they read your needs............. By self can move faster get more done more time to focus on yourself, freedom to do wkout by natural or instinctive training. I have a great training partner, only problem is he always looks to me to lead the wkout and has a habit of missing wkouts for any number of personal(though real) reasons. I rate my wkouts 1-10. I can reach a 9 alone but not a 10 wo a partner.

I train alone. I don't speak to anyone, don't wait for anyone to get out of the way....etc. Must have the proper music in the gym or out come the headphones. Partners generally tend to break my concentration by opening their mouths, taking a piss, getting a drink or training too slow.

I would much rather have a work out partner, when i go train I want to lift every rep as heavy as I can, without a partner I dont feel as comfortable about loading up the bar or do 120 lb dumbell flys because I dont want to drop any weights peroid and i know i would alone.

Well I like working on my own, but it sucks when I need a spot. I however like it when I have friends that are there working out, doing there own seperate thing and we spot each other, then I can do my own thing, because when I work with a partner I often dont get do do exactly what I feel I need at the time. But partners help motivate you sometims

Training alone rules but in order to really increase your weights you need a spot to help you crank out extra reps. It is good to lift with someone close to your strength because you can compete againts them and motivate each other.

This isn't even a debate for me. I had the same workout partner for 10 years. I can't do nearly the same intensity workout without her.

My partner is my Brother. I need to have a partner for motivation on lazy days. You know all of us get them, but most of the time one of us is motivated, and that motivates the other. Also I like to do a "heavy set" and could not without a spot. I don't like asking other in the gym for a spot. They always want to talk after the lift is over.

Also we cycle at the same time, so our strength changes together.

i had the best partner ever.....until he went to prison last month....it really fucking sucked:(
