Do you consider Steroids to be a drug?....

My g/f and I was debateing on steroids being a drug...i dont consider it a drug as in xtc, er meth..she was trying to compare the two..i told her, that you couldnt compare the two as the same type of drug....she made me mad...thanking shes always right...what do you thank?
 
yeah, i understand that..but she thanks its just as addicting and bad for you as a rec drug..Geezz..asian girls thank dur always right about everthang.....
 
I think most on here would accept that aas is psychologically addicting. Whether gear is bad for you can sometimes be a crapshoot, especially as you get older. With research you can minimize the issues but they can never be ignored.

I think of coffee as a drug so I'd have trouble classifying gear as non-drug.
 
No it's not a drug in that sense. That was why the FDA, HHS, and the AMA testified that steroids should not be scheduled back in 91. They didn't meet the criteria of an addictive or "mind altering" drug. You know, like alcohol. Oh wait, alcohol isn't a drug. But as we all know, congress scheduled them anyways.

You can't become physically addicted to steroids and there is plenty of evidence to show that it's not a hallucinogen.
I know, you're going to say, "but what about Bigcracker's posts? Are you saying a straight person could think up that shit?" Okay well, maybe not.
 
could be considerd a rec drug. because some people like to inject. and to tell you the truth when I have gear I feel a high from it and I feel excited.
 
i thank you can get addicted to just about anything..but just because your addicted, doesnt mean its a drug..imo

Yes of course it is a drug, but I have been taking gear everyday for the past 10 years and will continue indefinitely, so how could it possibly be addicting?
 
I consider steroids a drug...they certainly meet the criteria.

As far as them being a narcotic-type substance like the drugs your friend was comparing them to, that's not a strong position....they aren't narcotics.

As far as steroids being recreational drugs, yes, they certainly fit that criteria as well. Just because your recreation involves lifting weights and not dancing with glow-sticks doesn't make the drugs you take any less recreational. If you do them in pursuit of a recreational past time, they are recreational drugs.

anything that is abused and not tooken the right way, in my opinion is a " bad drug", in the sence you are refiring too, but offcoarse it is still a drug.

I think that's a stretch. Because it's the past time that is the recreation. Not the drug. If that was the case then Viagra/Cialis would be a recreational drugs. Talk about performance enhancing drugs!

So by that logic, Ecstasy is not a recreational drug either? Dancing is the recreational activity (or going to raves, or whatever), and E is the drug?

I think that AAS are recreational drugs most of the time. They are part of a recreational lifestyle.

Yep, I'll admit many of my posts are inspired by 420. I view steroids not only as a frug but as a vice that's no different from the socially accepted vices many everyday/non gym goers have. Alcohol, tobacco, weed, coke heroin, E, LSD, Meth, Shrooms, Special K, Rx painkillers, Rx happy drugs like Paxil/Prozac, Rx sleep aids like Ambien CR, Rx boner pills, Steroids, Botox, sex, pornography, the internet, shopping, driving fast, gambling, and even religion-IT'S ALL DOPE!!! anyone that overindulges in any of things is gonna have probs, therefore anyone that chooses to do/use these things has no business pointing their fingers at anyone.

Sure, you'll never hear about a roid head busting down his dealer's door at 3 AM for a dbol fix, but roids are still drugs-illegal ones at that. "gimme just a few dbol pills man....I'll suck your dick!"

as a note- believe that ulter intended "straight" to imply mind altering drug free, not sexual orientation.

note#2- steroids do alter neurotransmitter levels, act as modulators of neurophysiology including receptor expression, etc..... it would be fair to say that they impact the mind, often significantly. though that being said, in general such impacts- IMHO - are beneficial and not outside the "norm"- hence would not be mind "altering"- which would typically be interpreted as impacting the mind to the extent that it is altered outside the "norm"- that being a range.

Sorry I had re-write this. I didn't like my original position. :)

Taking E IS THE RECREATION. What you do when you're on it is only an activity that can be an additional recreational activity. In other words, people take E and do not go to a rave. They just take it for the sake of taking it because of the way it alters their mind.


People don't use steroids this way. They don't take steroids just for the sake of taking them. Just like they don't take Viagra just for sake of it.
 
sometimes i sneak off into the backroom at work so i can inject myself real quick. man, the withdrawals almost prompted me into suicide more than once.
once i was almost already in dallas and i forgot my winny caps. so i turned around and drove back to pick them up. it was 5 hrs one way. so.

a friend ask me if he could use one of my pins for his inject until he went and got some, so i took it out and stabbed him in the eye. don't mess with my testosterone and ancillaries.

i crystallize tren on a bunson burner and snort it for fun. shit.

after 15 years of the media pounding it into peoples heads that AAS are a cancer in society don't expect any kind of meaningful discourse about them with non users.

I wonder what the FDA and AMA's position would be on them now..
 
I would say AAS is a drug for sure, and probably the best drug ever. You get no hangovers and you turn into a sexual tyranosaurus. I've messed around with other rec drugs and they all suck and most have bad side effects.

AAS **IN MODERATION** is pretty good stuff.

steroids ARE recreational drugs, why ? Because your using them for ones own personal enjoyment/satisfaction. same as CRACK, but the side effects are much more tolerable.

man, my girl thinks the same thing, she's seen me on gear when we first started going out, she's got this thing with all drugs, doesn't want me doing shit, well that's understood since i'm a recovering addict, so i cant' tell her when I'm on, I just keep a lot of legal supplements around to blame it on, they are addicting psychologically, not so much physically
