This is an interesting question. I generally make eye contact and smile widely and bow my head as a means of greeting and acknowlegement (I am VERY old fashioned). But because I have been beaten so many times if it is a man I tend to look down out of fear.

My sister chastizes me for this all the time but she doesnt know what it is like to be me.

Its not about dominace for me, (when it comes to mortals) it's about being aware of whom is around me. I was once followed around target by three guys, all whom I turned and staired straight in the eyes, made sure I had complete description of each and ever one of them right down to eye color. I kept my head up and walked with confidence... then I went over to the sporting good section, bought a metal bat, biggest one I could find and then walked out into the parking lot, loaded my car with my goods and went on my way.

A preditor can sense weakness, believe it or not... by the way you walk, stand, look, etc. Your strength and overall is how you carry yourself.

Of this I am well-aware. If my children were in danger or even if it were my gf (who could wrassle most men to the ground LOL) I would have no trouble defending them. But for me... I just can't do it. I would cower and yield and just hope they wouldnt kill me so that I could live to see another day with my loved ones.
