do u really need to do cardio or can u just cut calories more???

Cardio definitely is not necessary in order to get to any low % in bodyfat, but it can speed up the process. Too much is very catabolic, where your body releases stress hormones like cortisol and breaks down muscle. http://www.testosterone.net/articles/173melt.html
Try this workout for a week and see how u feel after, if u follow it properly it should be evidence enough you definitely don't need cardio.
Cardio is no better for your heart than weight lifting, and especially if u follow a workout like the one above you will feel why. That's why people like Dr. Serrano recommend no cardio, as well as Met-RX creator Dr. Connely, who says the ONLY benefit the heart gets from cardio is a decrease in BP, which it also gets, even better from weight lifting. Also check out the book "Manly Weight Loss".

Let's dispell a bunch of fallacies in this post quickly:

1. Too much weightlifting is catabolic also. Too much jerking off is catabolic. Too much of anything is catabolic. Bodybuilders don't need to train like marathoners, but they need to do a bare minimum of cardio. Most of the pros do some in certain phases of training.

2. I have to go over this again because this it is such a fallacy: 'Cardio is no better for your heart than weight lifting...That's why people like Dr. Serrano recommend no cardio, as well as Met-RX creator Dr. Connely, who says the ONLY benefit the heart gets from cardio is a decrease in BP, which it also gets, even better from weight lifting. ' Cardio strengthens your heart muscle. Any kind of exercise which causes an increase in heart rate and respiration will strengthen your cardiovascular system, but any cardio (walking, running, kickboxing, bike riding, swimming etc...) is way more efficient at strengthening your heart than weightlifting. How did those guys get their MD? That quote is like saying 'If you want to build really good leg muscles just walk alot cause doing squats isn't any better for your legs than just walking alot'

3. Testosterone Mag is a very poor resource. If you listen to them you'd have bought every Biotest product and gained 60lbs of muscle and shed 100lbs of fat without working out much.

That post frustrates me soo much I can't even go on

cardio burns more calories, instead of doing this can u just cut calories more?

Yes, but do your cardio.

Cardio is good for your heart-it makes your heart strong.

Cardio is good for your lungs-it conditions them to more efficiently exchange O for CO2 from your blood. More O in your blood is more energy for your muscles. More energy for your muscles mean ability to workout longer, harder, and recover quicker.

Cardio is good for fat loss-more calories burned equals more fat burned. You can condition you body to burn fat faster thru cardio. Fat has the greatest amount of energy so your body likes to use it for fuel.

If you properly fuel your body you will not burn muscle. If you use a protein drink before and after cardio you will curb the body's natural catabolic response. Your body prefers to burn glucose and fat before protein so you have to do a prety hard workout and not eat or supplement to catabloize muscle signifcantly.

Cardio is a complex animal and people respond differently. It has a significant affect on all energy systems. It can be catabolic and anabolic. When I ride my bike alot my legs get bigger. I don't some HIIT workout; I go ride many hours in the mountains. I am also extremely lean so I know it burns off fat and even muscle. But this is just for me. Doing :20 of cardio 3x a week is not catabolic. And I'm gonna throw this out there: HIIT is more catabolic than people think so a number of people should evaluate their cardio workouts.

I'm gonna have to do another thread soon, but cardio has its place for all athletes from bodybuilder to footbal players to golfers to marathoners to pro triathletes. Doing cardio is like conditioning your energy system to functioning efficiently at higher than normal workloads. Anyone interestred in improving their workouts should do cardio.

#2 in particular - I thank you for this post. I didn't think anyone was going to mention that (in such good detail, see my earlier post in this thread).
