do u really need to do cardio or can u just cut calories more???

You don't HAVE to do cardio, but I'd rather do some cardio and get to eat more. I only do cardio 4x a week usually for 30 min, and I enjoy it. Some cardio is good for your heart. Cardio doesn't have to be on a machine in the gym.

Too much cardio is bad for fat loss because it's catabolic. I definitely wouldn't enjoy it if I did those long grueling sessions day after day like I see some people doing. Most of these same people never lift weights either, and they look like shit. Even though some are skinny, it's that loose skinnyfat look.

if you just "cut calories " your organism will get used to a low calories diet and your metabolism will drop --> not good to lose weight

Cardio is good:
it helps burn calories
good for your cardiovascular system
feeling of well being (release of dopamine, endorphins ,...)

I think cardio is essential for fat people to lose weight. However, the closer you get to your desired weight, the less you should do. I'm in a maintenance phase right now and do two days of cardio (HIIT). That has been sufficient.

I've found that diet is somewhat more effective for weight loss than hours of cardio per week.

cardio will be more effective in burning subcutaneous fats (fat deposited under the skin), where as dieting will be more effective in burnin visceral fats (fat deposited between you organs/inside your body). A lot of people who just diet may lose weight but don't see great results becuase the weight was lost from an area where the fat is not visible.

Well, when I first began bodybuilding it was to lose weight. I lost fifty-some-odd pounds without doing a single minute of cardio. Just balls to the wall training 4-5 days per week. However, I think that if you are trying to attain a super-shredded physique cardio is somewhat of a necessity. I would assume that there's a reason that all pros do some cardio anyway.
