Do people think US Pres Candidate John Edwards is Gay?

Yeah, we need a democrat who stands up for himself. I don't see Obama or Edwards doing that. Thats going to hurt their polls.

Fundamentally americans aren't going to vote for someone who isn't willing to defend himself.

So what now? Is she going to stand up and say that she would talk about obama but she can't use the word "N..."

Edwards Hopes To Raise "Coulter Cash" After "Faggot" Slur
Huffington Post | Posted March 3, 2007 11:18 AM

Former Senator and Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards is hoping to use right wing pundit Ann Coulter's use of the word "faggot" in remarks about him to raise "Coulter cash." The incident at this year's Conservative Political Action Conference has sparked a flurry of criticism.

In a mass email sent to supporters today, Edwards Campaign Manager David Bonoir argued that "this is just a taste of the filth that the right-wing machine is gearing up to throw at us" and set a fundraising goal of $100,000 this week.

The email, in its entirety, follows:

Dear [Supporter],

Did you hear about Anne Coulter's speech this afternoon attacking John? A friend just forwarded me the video and it's one of the worst moments in American politics I've seen.

I can't bring myself to even repeat her comments. Her shameless display of bigotry is so outrageous you actually have to see for yourself to believe it.

This is just a taste of the filth that the right-wing machine is gearing up to throw at us. And now that it's begun, we have a choice: Do we sit back, or do we fight back?

I say we fight. Help us raise $100,000 in "Coulter Cash" this week to show every would-be Republican mouthpiece that their bigoted attacks will not intimidate this campaign. I just threw in 100 bucks. Will you join me? Just click here.

Coulter's attack was no accident. It happened on national television at one of the year's biggest conservative conferences. Dick Cheney and most of the Republican candidates were in the audience. She was even introduced by Mitt Romney.

John was singled out for a personal attack because the Republican establishment knows he poses the greatest threat to their power. Since they have nothing real to use against him, Coulter's resorting to the classic right-wing strategy of riling up hate to smear a progressive champion. And the Republican attack dogs will keep playing this despicable trick as long as they think it works.

But this time, you and I can change the game.

If we can raise $100,000 in "Coulter Cash" this week, we can show that bigotry will only backfire on those who use it. John is not the first progressive leader to face this kind of slime, but together, we can make sure he is one of the last.

Tonight, I've put in 100 bucks of "Coulter Cash" to get us started. Can you match me, or chip in whatever you can afford? Just click here:

I think raising Coulter Cash is a weak response by Edwards.

Coulter has already succeeded. Everyone now wonders if Edwards is gay. Stick a fork in him, he is done.

I think it was pretty much between Hillary and Obama anyway, but that says lots about Americans if they won't vote for someone because some ignorant bigot calls him a "faggot" on TV. Instead, people s;hould pretty much ensure her career is OVER.

It is not so much that people think he is gay, the point is that is all they will discuss about him, i.e., his issues don't matter.

Well, if that is so, I guess we should congratulate the republicans for their 3rd grade playground strategy. If you can't win on the issues, just call people names and hope they ignore the issues. Splendid. The whole lot of them should be ashamed. I hope it backfires.

Last time I checked Republicans don't vote in Democrat primaries. If you guys are above this sort of thing it shouldn't be an issue, right?
