Do people think US Pres Candidate John Edwards is Gay?

it's funny how up in arms republicans get when someone calls GW a liar, which there is actual circumstancial evidence for.........yet one of their own can stoop to the level of a seventh grader and it's funny and worth debating over. As I said in another post......I could care less what Coulter say's, she can call him a cocksuking prick-riding ass pirate.....it's her right to do so. But for the republican party to continue to embrace this low class subhuman will have ramifications........and somebody, ANYBODY....in the GOP had better step up and effectively banish her.....because her attacks are getting pettier and pettier and really dipping into the lower strata of sewer matter, and she's going to drag the GOP down there right with her.

I'm glad you posted that because I feel it is relavant, because I'm sure air america is out saying 'all republicans hate gays' and that article helps set the record straight.

But opposing gay marriage is a form of oppression. Gays suffer high rates of psychological problems from being alienated from society and gay marriage bans do not help.

Would it be oppression if the mentally ill, the handicapped or the poor were not allowed to marry? Why is gay marriage different.

And nobody is going to eventually be marrying a rock or a dog anytime soon because of allowing gay marriage so lets not get into that. Giving women the right to vote in the early 20th century didn't lead to giving apes the right to vote. Allowing blacks to be in positions of power & authority didn't lead to horses being put in the senate. Giving gays the right to marry will not lead to people marrying dogs, trees or frogs.

I'll admit that I always thought this guy was kind of sissyfied, but gay? He is very pretty, married to a woman who is not considered by most to be the typical attractive politician wife.

Ann Coulter's comments here were bizarre and inappropriate, but is she on to something?

Has anyone's Gaydar been activated over this guy?

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference before an overflow crowd on Friday, Ms. Coulter said, “I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I — so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards.”

Although your post was insightful, I disagree with the major points. A long-standing tactic of the Gay/Lesbian movement in America is to try and equate in the collective consciousness that gay rights are analagous to women's rights or race discrimination.

I reject that argument. Before civil rights laws blacks weren't allowed to eat in certain places, go to certain schools, etc based on skin color.

Homosexuality is simply a sexual orientation of choice. If a gay guy walks into a restaurant, he does not get rejected. As a matter of fact, no one would even know he was gay unless he volunteered that information.

Saying there should be "gay rights" is saying there should be a specific set of rights based soley on sexual orientation, and a deviant one at that.
