Do hydrogenated palm oils and coconut oils contain trans-fats?

Aight, here's the scenario:

After negotiating and questioning how my own mother could force-feed me deadly trans-fats, she has agreed to take out a portion for me and not add the stock cube to this portion.

The soup contains mixed vegetables such as tomato, carrot, celery, onion, garlic... and.... chicken wings which have been left to soak in the boiling water for 1.5 hours and then taken out. She also says she will chill the soup TWICE enabling her to spoon out all of the visible fat that rises to the top (I don't understand why she just didn't use the breast ).

What's the deal? Should I eat the soup that has had the wings soaked in it or not?

P.S. This won't be my whole meal, just an entree; and I'm bulking atm. :)

I would sneak the breasts in there when she is not looking...seriously, if she catches you , then she takes the hint and sees how important it is to you, you win. If she does not, then you gain anyway, you win.

If I were your mom, I would spank you and make you eat a whole pizza!!! :-)

If you are bulking I wouldn't really sweat it, unless you are planning on eating that everyday. Every once in a while should still be OK to driink the water where the wings were taking a hot bath.

That's what I was looking for! Thanks Pintoca. I guess once in a blue moon won't hurt.

P.S. I'm trying to keep this as clean as possible, so commercially made pizzas and fast food are off-limits

Any type of hydrogenated fat causes trans fatty acids. Pumped with hydrogen and loses it's oxygen.

this is the correct answer, it is the chemical conversion usede to change a liquid oil to a solid form.

if you have to eat the soup then eat it. If it bothers you that much then dont eat it. There are so many unhealthy things that everyone does in a given day, so its all good. Just sitting at the computer stairing at the screen for extended periods of time isnt so good for your eyes, but what are you gonna do.
