I just took a couple religious classes (requirement)...so while I won't debate religion with anyone because frankly I don't care and at this exact point in my life it's not necessary something I am halfway sure I believe in and because this is a fitness board... I will tell you what I believe an abrahamic God (Christian, jewish, muslim), might believe:

#1 If he not against aas use, he is for the 10 commandments, so "cheating" in sport and/or lying about use to friends/family/law enforcement would qualify as a sin.

#2 He created man in his image.. therefore trying to alter the appearance of man/woman through unnatural means (cosmetic surgery, implants, aas) MIGHT be considered a sin. The Pope has not to my knowledge commented on this kind of thing (not that I'm catholic so who cares, but the college I take courses at is so that's my reference point).

#3 God is supposedly against anything that articially affects the natural development of life.... this includes a married couple using condoms , gene therapy, stem cell, in vitro, etc. now this is all specifically related to procreation and the transmission of life.. BUT... I'm sure some f'd in the head priest could take it down that slippery slope to the development of the human body to its natural capacity.

Just my thoughts on how God might view it according to a conservative theologian, NOT MY VIEWPOINT.

personally I don't give a FUCK what any fictional man made creation thinks.
that's like worrying if the goddamned easter bunny condones or condemns steroid use.

Oh boy. Somebody's really trying to stir the shit now

I'm an Atheist myself-no middleman in my life. However I have read the bible(unlike many Christians) and would have to say yes, AS use is a sin. Since AS and recreational drugs were not available back then, I'd assume these 2 verses are the ones AS use would be categorized under.

"Everything is permissible for me" -- but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me" -- but I will not be mastered by anything" (I Corinthians 6:12).

"Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18).

Then again, this comes from a book that advocates torture, punitive amputation, slavery, oppression against women and handicapped people, violence, lawlessness, undermining of authority figures, murder of homosexuals and drunk teenagers, various human right's violations, etc...

Man, I'm gonna be in deep shit with the juiced up churchies now.

WOW! What a thread! Iwas going to keep out of it but....that would not be like me at all! I believe God has a lot more to deal with and worry about than some ants using AAS. Its nothing, nada, in the big scope of things. Religious orientation is based on demographics anyway. Born in Isreal=Jew Afganistan= Muslim, Parts of China Buddist/Tao, Boston= Catholic, Alabama=Baptist. Now I know this is a generalization but for the majority it holds water. I believe God is way more concerned about us all killing in his name because "OUR/Their God is the True God." When it truth its all the same God. I am not just speaking of Muslims. Christans have a messed up start also. Does God care...I think if you feel guilt over it yes he does care. If you are okay in your heart with it...he does not care. Sorry for the soap box!

I couldn't have said it better bro, fuckem let them try and dictate a moral code that's clearly outdated and contradictive of itself to the extent of being absurd.

My point about a messed up start in the christian religion. I got your back. I am not an athiest because something had to start it all...even if it was just a nudge and then he/it sat back and watched what happened. I feel many of us fear the end of existance at death. I do not at all. I fear not getting everything done first! If the dirt nap is just that cool...I am gone anyway. If there is heaven/hell....I have done many more people great goods way more than those I have wronged....they are few. I believe in Karma (real Karma) You reap what you sow in life...and death perhaps. BTW, I read the bible also.

i agree with u 100 quad but i'm 2 sided with believing real karma doing more good than bad if there is a heaven will land u there, thats what i hope is true, but also sometimes think in real life good people finish last is it the same in the after life

Honestly it is quite possible. I guess it all depends on your own personal beliefs. I have met people that say tatoos and body piercing is a sin, yet others don't feel that way..
I do not use, however I will say that if I ever did I do not think that I would feel condemned because of it.

How anyone can seriously believe in reigion these days is beyond me. You only have to look at from a slightly subjective view point to realise it is just plain dumb.
Religions came about hundreds of years ago when we didn't have any idea of science, and everyone believed that the earth was flat and the sun was magic and if a woman had a brain she was clearly a witch. Then some guy who obviously had a lot of charisma offered up answers as to why we exist and what happens after we die and fair enough, people started to believe in what he was saying (this is true of pretty much all religions). It gave people peace of mind about death (which lets face, mortality is a pretty scary thought) and gave them the other answers to all of lifes great mysteries. It was understandable that back then people would believe these people. But not now. The only reason any of us believe in religion is because it has been passed down from one generation to the next and it grips people with fear that if they do not believe, they will go to hell. But when you stop and question the logic of it all, it becomes just plain dumb and nothing else. We have science now, we know that we are nothing more than organic matter, the same as bacteria. We know that the answers given by religion are clearly wrong. Why believe in a book of stories written by people who thought the sun was magic?
If you did truely believe in religion, and follow every single scripture literally, then everyone on the planet is living in sin, bar none, because its completely inescapable and the scriptures are all so contridicatory that you can't possibly win.

I think GOD created gear, so no, I don't think he minds. There is no commandment that says:: Thou shall not do GEAR!!

I highly doubt that the only reason as to why people believe in "religion" is because it was passed down.If that were the case then I would end up being catholic...My parents were very strict about catholic business before and when I was born. I was baptised and all that great shit. However, here I am 26 years old. Last time that I stepped foot in a catholic church was when I was too young to make my own choices...I fell away obviously...I used drugs, drank, I was a "sinner"..I did not find my way back to christ because of my parents or their beliefs. If that were the reason then I would be in a catholic church and believin their beliefs!

There are plenty of very christian people... including high ranking priests.. who believe the old testament is symbolic... who believe that evolution is real... many believe that forms are evolving towards God..to be God-like, to be in his image... that he had a vision for life, but not an exact plan..and loves his creations enough to let them make their own choices and adapt to their own environment.

In other words... we are not just aimlessly evolving, but evolving TOWARDS something.

Check out authors like Haught.. or Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.. he was a jesuit priest AND a paleontoligist.

I'm not saying I believe in that stuff..I just took a friggin' final so its fresh in my head.. but religion vs. science isn't that simple.. there's a lot of grey area and a lot of prominent people on both sides who believe the answer is somewhere in the middle.

It is interesting stuff, no question.

We are all sinners but are all forgiven. Its basically in how you percieve your desicions subconciously. Some religions think its a sin for women to wear pants instead of a skirt or dress like the hardcore baptists.

I Really Wonder About That Too, I'm A Catholic And Sometimes I Would Feel Guilty But.... God Gave Us The Intelligence To Create Such Chemicals! Heheh!

Naa But For Real, I Always Pray To God Before Starting A New Cycle, God Help Me To Lift Hard And Take Care Of Me Of Any Injuries! Amen!!

I'm Catholic I Think That We Are The Worse Sinners, But Let Me Tell You That God Wants Us To Be Happy And This Makes Me Happy. As Long I Don't Abuse Them. That's My Point Of View.

Oh I'm disgusted! We just talked about why ef is good for helping people. What's all this? Noone is answering his question. At least not well.

Louisiana, Great question.
I have pondered this one myself. Earlier post made comment about lying and cheating. These are very valid. If you can still find yourself in the gray then consider this "you should obey the law of the land". Personally I think you have to ask yourself if you can truly succeed in bb if you have doubt to begin with. Make up your mind then move forward. My grandpa said "bite off more than you can chew, then dammit chew it anyway". If your genuinly struggling you can pm me. I can give you more on the subject.

See, you can be objective without being offensive.

Oh yeah, Question: Why does anyone get so pissed at a God you don't believe in? I don't believe in the Easter Bunny, but I sure don't get pissed off if someone asks a question about him.

Good point bro. a question a man asks with god in it gets a lot of ridicule and some hate towards his belief.

And the pope and his lackeys are taking a real nice kickback from a lot of people, primarily from 'private lobbyists' for not saying no, even though your interpretation is correct. But then again, when the church is serving its own interests...... hypocracy is A-O-K

This is a fool proof system that can't be denied. A couple of the fat ass brainless trainers in my gym prey on dorky religous types. They pimp Jesus to their clients during their workouts. Then thousands of $$$ later when their clients see zero results, they can always say it wasn't God's will and they need to keep paying up and wait. lol

I wonder if I start my own church called The Church Of St-eroid-ology if I could say that roid use for me should be legal since it's my religion??? American Indians can possesss/use Peyote and Magic Mushrooms legally for this reason, so why can't AS use be legal to use for me? Go whitey!!!

Seriously, it blows my mind how many guys can't properly use the words to, too, and two or your and you're.

I believe GOD rewards those who help themselves. If you feel AAS can help you achieve your goals, then I would say that the higher power probably commends one who wished to achieve his/her ends

I also believe that what is in your heart and your mind is more important then ones physical body. So if one choose to enhance their physical presence , then I hope that this is not a real issue

You only have 1 life... Live it

OK, so if I rape and kill 20 women all I need to do is accept Christ as my lord and savior before I die and I'll make it in to Heaven no prob??? That's kick ass!!!

Now if I'm Athiest, and donate all of my free time to helping under priveleged children, invent a cure for cancer, and promote world peace, etc., When I die I'm gonna fry in Hell for all of eternity??? That sucks!!! :p

I didn't make the rules, but like 2.5 billion other people I accept them.
Most of us, in our own way, attempt to emulate the life of Christ. We also know that we will fall short, and our short comings will be forgiven.
Personally it's not my place to say who goes to Heaven, and who goes to Hell. That's between you and your Maker. If you don't have the Faith, that's your business as well.

Emulate Christ...hmmmm...he was often misunderstood, hung around hookers and freaks, he performed random acts of kindness for others... I'm fuckin' there dude!!!

Ya gotta adfmit by being Muslim and martyring myself by killing non muslims to get 72 virgins in utopia sounds much more rewarding though.

Mormonism is even more trippy. It was founded by Joe Smith-a guy that said millions of Jews fought battles and died on American Soil. An Indian appeared to him in a forest one day and gave him these mysterious plaques written by God on how to live your life divinely-that mysteriously disappeared after they were written out on paper. Personally I like the mormon special underwear pre marriage ceremony where the clergyman fondles and blesses your genitals in private while you are sworn to secrecy about this particular event taking place. Ask any mormon about this-most while deny it cuz it's a guaranteed spot in hell if they did. Other less serious mormons(jack mormons)will tell you I'm not bullshitting about this though.
