Really, I am a picture takin fool and would love a nice camera for the task. I need some help cuz I wanna enjoy my purchase!
I have no clue on this techy stuff..FOR REAL I NEED ANSWERS AND SOME HELP before I dish out my cash!

Hey Vix....
We bought a digital camera before we went to Disney this summer. Wife wanted a Sony Mavica 10X. It takes a regular disk and you just stick the disk in your hard drive and download the picture from the disk or print it out on Kodak paper. We really enjoy ours but I'm sure people will have more ideas. Cost $399.99 at WalMart here and $389.00 at Sam's. Hope this helps. There is also a Sony that will make digital movies plus you can make stills pictures also. Don't know much about that one though! Later

Check out the Olympus C-2000Z Camedia. The price is reasonable, and the picture quality is pretty good.

Pixel's: On a computer monitor these are the very very tiny colored dots that make up the image you see. It takes Millions of these tiny Dots or Pixels to make an image. The more dots that are crammed into the image, the clearer the image is..
One indication of how good of quality the image that is captured on digital cameras is how many PIXELS the camera can record on the part of the camera that captures or records the image.
Entry level cameras have around 1 million Pixels so the image captured tends to be kind of Grainy or blurry. 1 mega pixel
The image can't be blown up and printed much more than 5x7 size without being real blurry/grainy... Web cams are an example.
Mid level cameras(what you want) have around 2 million pixels or 2 Mega Pixels and are pretty clear and the image can be blown up to 8x10 and still be pretty clear. $400 - $500
They can be rated and will be advertised as 2.1 megapixel= 2.1 million pixels can be captured.
Pro level cameras go up to 4 and above megapixels and cost $1,000.00-2,000.00 or more

I have used this other Sony that you mentioned. It was my friends companies camera. The pic quality was excellent. I think the name was maybe "cybershot". Vix I have some pics on my PC at home if you want to see the quality. It was great as I downloaded the pics to my PC in minutes.

The big players Olympus, Kodak, Sony, all take pretty good pic's.
Don't buy anything below 2 megaPixels or you will not be happy with the photo's
Kodak seems to have really vibrant color in theri image
.
Sony has the features like Diskette capable cameras(old) and what they call a memory stick storage media.
The reason I like the Olympus mid range camera especially the zooms is the Lens.
A good lens is the most important component of ANY camera.
The Olympus Zoom lens will allow you to zoom in or out to get closer to the action and still have an excellent, clear image.
Don't buy anything below 2 megaPixels or you will not be happy with the photo's

Actually the pics you saw were just taken with a normal camera, I have pics of the bike taken with the digital camera.
18 days, not that I am counting
