Diet?

So I am kind of looking for a small diet. I dont know whats the best drink I can drink and what kind of foods I should eat. I am not looking to go all out and buy a bunch of different shit to get me super pumped. Just a basic guideline to follow. I know soda isnt good I cut that out already. What should I drink? OJ? Coffee? Grape Juice? I really dont have a clue.
 
Im going to guess you are bulking so in short you should drink milk, water and green tea and you should eat these sorts of foods:

lean cuts of steak
chicken breast
whole eggs
cottage cheese
yams
red potatoes
white potatoes - good for PWO
natural peanut butter
fruits
vegetables
brown rice
oats
fish
turkey
wholemeal bread
olive oil or grapeseed oil for cooking
cheese is calorie dense but dont over do it

basically you want quality sources of protein, and it sounds like your on a budget so chicken, eggs and milk can be cheap sources which you can buy in bulk, look out for offers at the shops on steak and stock up when there is and freeze it. For carbs you want mainly slow digesting carbs, like yams, brown rice, red potatoes, oats as mensioned, and some fast digesting carbs after workouts. For fats you should try to concentrate on healthy fats, good sources are whole eggs, olive oil, flaxseed oil and grapseed oil, natural peanut butter and nuts. Milk has alot of fat in it too so you dont have to go crazy with other fat sources.

You should also try to make your diet up mainly of whole foods, rather than whey protein and protein powders. Take them post workout yeah but the rest of the time real food is better...
 
Hmm now I have to find a way to incorporate that into my daily life. I work at Mc Donalds so a lot of my meals per week come from there. They have egg covered but everything else looks so terrible for you.
 
You need to pack your own lunch and bring it to work, make meals the night before, its super easy if your planning it a bit, i worked in a fry kitchen for 3 years when i was younger and didn't have a problem, i just brought my lunch to work. I really wouldn't be eating anything from McDonalds even if i was bulking, its just about the shittiest food you can eat.
 
what bodytype I am? Before when I was going to the gym I was eating fast food all the time and making gains. But I was also on creatin. I am only 160lbs and 5 8. Kinda small dude.

i hope you were kidding when you gave your opinion by saying eating a little fast food isnt bad... if the guy is 6'2" 130# i still wouldnt recoment eating fast foods. why not eat more of the good foods.. set someone down the correct path.. extra calories?? eat another chicken breast with some veggies in olive oil.
not a mcdonalds burger..you are already heading down the second place path saying that..
same thing today as 60 years ago... the big 3.
proper diet... proper training... proper rest..

Extramile was definitely correct. As an ectomorph it is extremely hard to get enough calories with just chicken. You are going to need some junk foods for sure.

It is nothing new, iv heard other guys say it. Skinny hard gainers especially young ones will find it hard to constantly stuff down enough calories. Being ectomorphs they wont gain fat very easily either. So some fast food every so often will provide alot of the much needed calories. I guess you could say its a lazy way out but if you were 160 dont you think you would find it hard to eat 4000 clean calories every single day?

in my opinion, if he was eating fast good and making good gains before aslong as he wasnt over eating it like all the time then why not start eating it again? Like i said not all the time and he would have to monitor his progress, if he started getting fat then the fast food would be the first thing to go.

id stick with water if i was just you, its the best thing for you, be careful about grape juice and things like that because they tend to have a lot of sugar.

Hmm sugary stuff can be great for growing because ecotomorphs respond very well to carbs.
 
Okay I'll guess I'll stick to water and sweet tea on occasion. I used to drink a lot of soda but I been watching it now.

5 or more meals that concist of 1 of each of the following:

beef, eggs, chicken, turkey, or fish

oats, sweat potato, red skin potato, brown rice, whole grain bread, whole grain pasta

broccoli, spinach, asparigus

extra virgin olive oil, nuts, penut butter

in addition to this you should be eating small amounts of fruits and berries throughout the day.

the big problem in your question is that you dont want to commit to much and that will get you nothing. half ass diets get you no results. the diet is the single most important part of altering the body in health, development, and aperance.

You're going to say "Eeew", but next after a raw egg for protein and unappetizing is something I love, but is an acquired taste. It's a Japanese quick snack/meal of a rectagle cut out from a block of cold soft/silken tofu, put on top steamed rice (brown and white mixed usually for me), sprinkled w/some chopped small pieces of green onion and then dashed with soy sauce. Refreshing in the summer. Low cal. Veggie protein, some onion breath after. What's not to love?
 
Nutritionally speaking, energy drinks are comparable to soda. The traces of vitamins and minerals can't make up for the caffeine and sugar, not to mention the questionable herbal ingredients. Put purely, energy drinks are only going to exacerbate poor dietary choices, a lack of sleep and a lack of exercise.

If you really wanna do dieting then try some natural products in your daily diet. Do routine exercises to keep yourself healthy and active.
