Diet plan for P90X

New member
Hi there everyone! First, I just wanted to say, I'm 20 years old, I've been working out for a good year now, (previous exp also - which was on and off), and I've been bulking up from 132 lb. Now I'm about 190-193lb (floating around those 2). Bodyfat is at 23% and yeah.

Since I've noticed my body is not growing much anymore, and I'm kinda getting "fat" since 23% seems kinda ugly, I've decided to try the P90X and have it run for its money.

So my plan now is, do 90 days p90x and than 90 days bodybuilding at the gym with weights (lean mass). So there will be no aerobics when I'm on the 90 days bodybuilding. Once I am done the 90 days bodybuilding, I shall go back to the 90 days again on P90X. My whole plan here is to change my routine every 90 days back and forth - bodybuilding and P90X.
So what It'll look like is this:

January-March - P90X
April-June - Bodybuilding
July-September - P90X
October-December - Bodybuilding

And this will be done forever! Unless I start some AAS's (hopefully once I'm near 25-27 and have a perfect base)

While on the P90X program, I'm gona be taking the following supplements:

1. Optimum Nutrition's protein (1 scoop w/BCAA's with Glutamine 30 minutes after workout)
2. Universal Animal Pac or Strive's Pro-Vit (Have both supplies)
3. Universal Uni-Liver (BCAA's)
4. Allmax Nutrition's micronized Glutamine
5. Dymatize's 12 hour release protein (Use before sleeping)

So these 5 I shall take when on the P90X program.
(the diet plan will be shown later)

When I go on the 90 days bodybuilding program (at the gym) once I'm done the 90 days of P90X, I shall use the following supplements, since I'll be trying to go for lean mass apparently.

1. Optimum Nutrition's protein (1 scoop w/BCAA's with Glutamine 30 minutes after workout)
2. Universal Animal Pac or Strive's Pro-Vit (Have both supplies)
3. Universal Uni-Liver (BCAA's)
4. Allmax Nutrition's micronized Glutamine
5. Dymatize's 12 hour release protein (Use before sleeping)
6. Ultimate Nutrution's CreaPure (Micronized creatine mono)
7. Gaspari Nutrition's PlasmaJet

Also, I will use Dextrose to assist in the Creatine absorption.
So the whole goal here is basically, to keep my body growing lean and bigger. I like how I'll always be confusing my body, and it'll never hit a plateau (hopefully)!

So do let me know guys what you think of the diet and what you think might happen, bla bla. Just want to hear some overall reviews on peoples input on my program. Thanks!

Also, I'm sorry if the diet plan didn't come out "as nice" as I wanted. I have the file on Microsoft Word which is showed off pretty well with nice fonts, etc. I couldnt copy and paste it since it came out weird so, above is just a lame version of it.

could have don the omega project and got one on one help with everything. Not saying that program
wont work. Just saying me likes our sponsor and friend omega lol.

that being said I will look into this and see what I think.

I do know a Protein: 50%
Carbs: 30%
Fats: 20%

is a cutting diet though.

The program seems pretty good and cheap. Omega's on the other hand, looks good for another thing, but its also expensive. :|

you could of downloaded it bro and got a real good deal lol. but in it is really a cutting program in my eyes. start a log and keep as posted on your results. Well atleast pm me your results as i am very intrested. another question did you buy all the dumbells, because i know you need alot of diffrent type of weights for it.

Yeah, I just bought the pushup bars and yoga blocks and crap. But for the pullup bars and weights, I'll be going to the gym at night while watching the dvd's with my portable dvd player. :D

Price of p90 139
price of push up bar and yoga bar and stuff you had to bu ?
price of dvd player a cheap one 90
220 already betting the price of push up bar and yoga bar and other stuff is at least 150

so looking at 370.00 damn thats already 70.00 more then the omega program and you don't even get as much. Hate to think you need to spend any more money on this thing. :worried:

I have the P90x DVD's. It concentrats on lifting heavy for one set and moving on to work another muscle group in a giant set fashion. In a nutshell it is progressive training which a lot of athletes use as a program to constantly make gains and avoid plateaus (as previously mentioned). I agree that it is a lot of money to spend especially if you do not already have the equipment. However, training with this program has allowed me to lose that last 5lbs from my pregnancy that I have been trying to lose for the past two years. I have also introduced it to some of my clients at the gym and they have made drastic changes.

Sorry I like an infomercial.

Thats awesome girl. Good to see it working for people. It really dose not matter the amount of money you have to spend for something as long as it works. Thats what I always say.

for something that really works in this industry. Its worth its weight in gold.

True! Well hopefully I'll keep a log on this program. Before/After pictures I'll try getting sometimes this week. And every 30 days I'll just snap some. Along with the 90 Days at the gym once I'm done P90X. Hopefully this routine works well. :$

if you follow it by the book, and don't get lazy it'll work great. I never really thought of the portal dvd player idea lol.

p90x isn't a bad workout routine...

I bought it for my wife, and it seems pretty good. I've watched her do it a few times, and it doesn't look easy.

Go to youtube and search..

ab ripper x (one of the 12 dvds that come in the kit)

It is in 2 parts. Its pretty tough

I've been doing P90X for 62 days...Tony Horton is great. Anybody that think P90X is for wimps or not a real work out hasn't done P90X! My muscles are more sore than they've ever been. The diet has several options. The team beach body board is great and most of the bro's over there very helpful.

I HATE yogaX.( wife loves it) .ab ripperX is killer...Plyometrics is insane...overall I love it and would recommend it to anyone. Youtube it, go it's boards..it is getting alot of people in great shape...Good Luck...look for me on the P90X board..make me a workout buddy..I do live workouts most night around 8pm EST

Push up bars and pull up bar a must IMHO also I really love the Bowflex dumbbells..but they are pricey$$$ about $600..

Thats good to hear blackboxer! I know the programs hardcore on the body since, you'll be in pain every day. I'm lookin' forward to Yoga X esp just so I can get a bit more flexable. I havent joined the Beach Body forum yet, but will sometimes later on (since this isnt the first time I plan on doing it obviously).

And EnderJr - Thanks!

AjayGill - I sure will. I actually have some shots right now (odd ones) before and after. Hopefully I try uploading them and see if they work.

Before (130lb) After (190lb)

Before (130lb) After (190lb)

Before (180lb) After (190lb)

BeforeAfter4.jpg

So the first picture was me when I started (130-132lb)
The last shots were 6 months after the first day I started working out, and 5 months after that to see if I've progressed anywhere along the 10 months. (Ignore the chest fur since I havent "waxed" - to lazy right now since I dont have abs) *sad face* lol

These are obviously not the before/after for the P90X - I'll add those later on once I'm done the 90 days period. lol
But those pictures are basically what I have right now (a pretty decent base in my opinion)

I ended up downloading all of the DVD's & the meals plan and such. I really haven't done too much with it though seeing I'm already happy with my own routine & diet plan which my diet is pretty much the same. I mostly use his Kempo-X and Stretching DVD's for my cardio workouts due to the high intensity of Tony's beach body tapes.
