It thinks it is about to endure a period without nutrition so sacrifices muscle and the little food that is consumed and conserves fat for the longer term.
You need boost metabolism by eating small and frequently and by eating suffificent calories to keep your metabolism burning. 1500 cals is less than an Ethiopian, no offence to any Ethiopians on the board, it is better to start too high and if no results work your way down rather than to start at too low a calorie level.
Also by stepping your calorie intake like i showed above, you prevent your body from adapting to the food intake, whereby the body would cease to burn off fat. Like training, you need to trick your body. Does this clear it up at all?
