Did you guys see that show on PrimetimeABC about voluntary amputation?

These people want to voluntarily have their legs/arms amputated just "because". One guy even went so far as to put both his legs in a bucket of dry ice for 6 hours and later when the flesh turned black the doctors had no choice but to amputate, which is what he wanted. He later said he regretted it at the end of the show because he was mentally ill at the time. Just when you think people cant get any more fucked up, a show like this happens.

apparently, people who are their own guardians can pretty much do anything to themselves as they wish, as long as it's considered a surgical procedure and not mutilation. i have a kid at my center who insists on doing his own piercings. he takes fucking costume jewelry and shoves it thru whatever tickles his fancy. i basically had to threaten him with an ass-whipping to get him to stop. not even the cancer talk scared him. his staff said there's nothing they could do because he was his own guardian....

What we have instead is a systemized program of dysgenics. Modern medicine is keeping people with dangerously defective genes alive long enough to contribute to the gene pool. We're going to continue to see an increase in the frequency of congenital conditions such as muscular dystrophy, achondroplasic dwarfism, Marfan's Syndrome, cystic fibrosis, and other such genetic disorders.
