hey guys.. gotta question for you.. i just did some deads.. warmed up with a measly 135, then loaded it up to 225. i can do more.. but.. this was pretty close to a 8-10 rep max.. any one know what a good guess of my one rep would be? just curious..
 
I have concluded that the only way to know your max is to pick it up. Calculations may come close, but until the weight rises with your hands wrapped around it, you don't really know.

Are you going to try to max out? Or are you wanting to stick with reps?
 
i would like to try to max out.. but i only have around 300 lbs in weight.. so i guess ill try to see if i can do that step by step..
shouldnt hurt..

because.. the 225 is really just a safe guard.. im not sure if i have it down 100% (the form), and i have noone to make sure i am doing it right..
 
I have a problem with these equations... I can do six reps with the same weight I can do for one rep... but I can't go up 5 lbs beyond what I do for six reps and even get the weight to lift off the floor for one rep.

So, my six rep max is the same weight as my one rep max.
 
The calculators and equations that people have come up with for this are bullshit. Here is how you find your 1rm....


Go to your local gym and pat the $10 guest fee. Pile on the plates until you hit a 1rm. Its worth $10 to know isn't it?
 
SofaGeorge, a 1rm deadlift is different from a rep deadlift.

you have to attack the weight.

deadlifting has a MAJOR mental side to it. get nasty boy!
