damn jury duty

For the 4th time in 4 year I got called for this shit. Had to waste a day off from work to go. I mean shit I only get two a week and have a whole lot of shit to do when off. It really screws up ones day. Don't really expect anyone to care, but damn this pisses me off. Just had to vent.

I have gotten out of jury duty 6 times. Each time it was because taking off work will cause financial hardship. Easy as that.

I agree that jury duty sucks but the bottom line for me is that this country is screwed up and it needs more people like us to fight for the small guy. Voting is just as important. The US and Canada are going to be third world countries one day because people let it fall through the cracks into the gutter. My 2 cc's.

It isn't mandatory. Don't register to vote, and you'll never have jury duy. If you want to participate in this republic (vote) then you have to also contribute (jury duty). Thats the agreement, like a driver's liscence. If you want to drive (legally), then you consent to a sobriety test. Don't want a sobriety test? Don't drive.

I agree that it's a pain in the bottom, but before you opt out you might want to consider that in our Constitutional Republic the jury weilds the ultimate power. Here in illinois you dont have to be a registered voter to be called, just have a drivers liscense!! I hate the Fuckin Dumb Ass Government!!
