creatine & weight loss

Question ladies...i have taken creatine for over the past year. I recently stopped taking it because my goals have changed. I am going to try out for the s.a. spurs dance team and i have to have that "dance" apperance. So, my question is will creatine interfere with my weight loss goals? But, I have noticed that i feel weaker sooner when doing weights! ANy advice?

Creatine will just add water weight so if it helps you train harder and longer that is a good thing for burning more calories. once you're ready for dance to look the leanest then come off the creatine. but i wouldn't think it will keep you from burning fat. but it will throw off the scale accuracy though.

Thanks! any idea how long it stays in your system once you've stopped taking it?

Yea about a few days to a week. ... it leaves my system real fast. i notice a 10lb drop in weight in just a few days.

You might feel weaker due to less water in the muscles. More water in the muscles will help you lift more (one reason creatine works to improve strength).

Nope, not crazy. I drop 15-20% of my strength in the week following a creatine fast. (I cycle monthly it to keep from getting too used to it)
