CRANK: Made in America

The beneficial qualities of methamphetamines are the same as those of other medications of the phenylethylamine group, such as methylphenidate and amphetamine. Take a shit load of the latter two and see if the effects are not similar. Improved concentration/focus, increased alertness, improved sense of well-being...the known effects of dopaminergics.

I agree.

I have a scrip for Adderall- The big 30 mg tabs- and to tell you the truth, it makes me feel a helluva lot happier, nicer, and more "spun" than any meth I've come in contact with. I guess that makes it harder to feel freaked out by the street shit. Still, I haven't had any for a week and a half (Adderall, not meth. ). I reduce my consumption when I'm lifting for gains. It's just a matter of realizing that a drug is not going to make you happy by itself, and not letting yourself do it constantly enough to develop any kind of dependence.

I still totally disagree.

This shit is clean pharmecutical grade, nowhere near as nasty as street brewed meth. Your not smoking and shooting it as they are. Average recreational dosage is much larger, making you much higher, and then crash much worse making one want it more.

people choose to be addicted to meth its their own fault point blank john stossel did an entire special on it and they had studies where they get rats addicted to drugs adn then gave them teh choice of abusing them or not and some decided not to

I agree that pharmaceutical is much cleaner, but I thought what we're mainly talking about here is addictive potential. People don't get hooked on street meth 'cause it's dirty. They get hooked on it because it gets them geeked and tweaked. In that regard, pharmaceutically pure methamphetamine would give them a better buzz.

As for the "recreational dosage"...... try having a bottle of pure speed around. If you want to abuse it and take more than your daily prescribed dosage, nothing is stopping you. Adderall is a mixture of four different amphetamine isomers (d-amphetamine saccharate, d-amphetamine sulfate, amphetamine aspartate, & amphetamine sulfate). Also, although different methods of ingesting speed will affect the absorbtion rate, the end result is pretty much the same- take enough and you get spun like a muddafucka.

In the end, it's the same as any other drug; abuse the shit out of it, and you will reap the consequences, but use it occasionally and you'll be OK. I'm not encouraging anyone to go out and buy a gram of crank and have themselves a dandy old time- I think we all know that. But looking at both sides never hurts.

The War on Drugs uses the same irrational concept as the anti-gun agenda: demonize the tool and not the user. The gun control crowd uses similar logic in assuming that a gun allows the user an "easier" method for their actions. "Without a gun around, a person would be less likely to harm someone" as if a knife is not an alternative. This same logic is applied to drugs, the "stronger" a drug, the "more likely" the user will become addicted. Kinda weird logic considering that there are tons of meth heads, yet not so many "addicted" X users, and X supposedly produces more "pleasant" effects.

I just finished the book, "Busted: Stone Cowboys, Narco-Lords, and Washington's War on Drugs". It's a good read.
