MY workout partner FLAKED OUT on me!!!!!!!!!!!!

She's discouraged that the CLEN she's been taking is actually making her worse....I kept telling her to get that diet in check and ditch that CRAPPY drug...but she didnt want to listen. ...she's also mad that I've changed A TON in the last 6 weeks.....PICTURES SOON I PROMISE!!!!!O well
Dayyum ... Well you tried to help when she wanted to hear nothing of it ... this is what was going to happen ... wait until you see what the next 6 week changes will bring ... the 'I told ya so' is not your style I gather, but YOU have done nothing wrong. This is her issue & HER lesson to be learned. DO not let it get in your head.

I'm so glad you did NOT go that route & are a true test to what a clean diet & training w/o AAS can do ... Aries *MUAH!*

I agree with Nikkita on explaining that this situation is going to become more stressful. Fighting with your loved one is no fun, & sometimes it will make or break the relationship. Maybe it's time for that test now, better for both of you in the long run.

Good Luck GF :rose:

I also want to add that maybe letting him into your fitness/training world will make him feel wanted & welcome and a part of this life separate from the relationship. Sure I love training pn MY time and for me, but training Mr. B once in a while and letting him in to my world helped our relationship. Just an idea ...

He was that one that got me into fitness/training. After I got a hang of it and really started to like it, when we worked out together I didnt train as good as when I do with a girl partner/by my self. ...But I guess a few times here and there would be good....AND I forgot to add that he is ALSO training for the show and dieting as well...but its SO EASY for hime damn it!!!!! His six pack came out after two weeks...

I "hear ya"! It seems so easy for my hubby too, he has such a fast metabolism it seems like he can eat anything. But he doesn't like it since it makes it harder for him to gain. I do enjoy working out w/him a few times a month on the weekend though. He's taught me a lot!!

Keep up the great work, I'm sure it'll all work out for you. Looking forward to hearing about the competition.

Girl.. you are only 20!!! Yeah tell him adios! If he can't hang with you now then personally I would say buh bye! Life goes up and down. Some months the schedule free's up a little more then others... but you are only 20?! I mean your schedule if anything is going to be staying like it is for sometime. You're only 20 not ready to get married (I'm assuming) so don't freak about it. You have a typical schedule. Mine is pretty similar to yours. Up early to bed early. You know what it's hard to think about sex when you have so much stuff to get done... plus on top of it you are feeling bloated and cramped. Yeahhhhh.... I guess just try and let him know you love him and that he has to let you do this right now in your life and you really need him to be supportive. You understand he has needs and that you will try harder to fit them in... but he also has to acknowledge you do have a life. Maybe if he would wake up with you, diet with you, work-out with you, go to bed with you, then he could get more involved with you and then he could get more sex :)
It's a give and take!

Great reasoning. If only you knew both sides of the story. Ur a typical women that takes sides. If you only knew everything I guess you would feel EXTREMELY different. :chomp:

Speaking of CRABBY BOOTS....Im having some personal issues with my boyfriend. He is giving me the "You never spend quality time with me, we hardly ever have sex, you always just want to sleep..when you come over all you do is eat and lay down...etc." SPeech.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-As if I already dont have ENOUGH on my plate, now I gotta force-feed this too...UGH , Im so upset. SO what the HELL do I do about this? He feels like he's not important anymore and like I dont love him or care anymore. I am unsure if part of this is due to the fact that I am sort of closed off and unsensitive in nature OR the fact that Ive turned my life upside down...I live and breathe my diet and training and TONS of homework. SO what the hell!!!!??? I feel like THE WORST girlfriend, I feel FATTTTTT, I feel like IM DYING OF CRAMPS and my period is supposed to hit in a week from now.....what else can go wrong? I guess its my fault for waking up at 6am and passing out by 9pm....but too late to turn back now!

I dont like dealing with issues that come up. Im one of those people that will just say whatever F*ck YOU! Get a different girlfriend, OR whatever I dont care BLAH BLAH BLAH. Im 20 years old!!!!! According to him I have NO sex drive(compared to before) and I dont care for him like I used to. SO what do I do now? Talk about it? I HATE TALKING about stuff......Write if off? I love the guy...cant do that..... What a freakin day!

Hey girl - just catching up w/ the stuff online today. Part of me is just rollign my eyes - you are HALF my age. I've been up until 3-4 am since last Thursday & working 9-12 hrs on my feet at the Arnold Expo weekend under major stress coupled w/ an 8 hr drive to the Arnold & back again w/ a ridiculously tight budget - we're so tight on cash, after the last full day at the Arnold we had to pack up & drive 100 miles to Cincinnati to get a cheaper hotel to stay at before we completed the last 7 hrs of driving. We couldn't afford to stay at the host hotel for one last night!

And I'm not laughing at you at all - you are just discovering what it takes to do a competition. Competition prep will strip you down to the fundamental you. You have to pick your priorities while appearing to have a relatively normal life around the people you love because they will most likely not hang around you if you expose them to the full brunt of your emotional roller coasters, your stresses, your schedule and yoru priorities. (i.e. the b/f). If you check my "So you want to compete" thread, I bring this stuff up. Especially your first competition puts you thru the paces and really shows you what you are made of - not only in how much dedication, focus, passion taht you put into the training, but also makign it thru the most boring 3-4 months of dieting you will ever endure and most importantly learning how to first recognize when a mood is gonna come over you (e.g. on low carb day) and then dealing with it in a way that doesn't alienate the people around you. It is still YOUR choice to pursue this competitoin goal. It is NOT anyone else's job to accommodate your mood swings, your use of your time or anythign else that you choose to put yourself through. That said, just like Buns is saying, she went thru that, went thru some denial about it, but did find a way to fit in the quality time and actually getting the b/f to have her schedule fit into his and they both draw personal satisfaction from it.

I'm not goign to comment on the fact that you are only 20, and there is SOOOO MUCH coming your way in the future.. But that doesn't negate the fact that you care about someone and what you are tryign to accomplish personally is coming into direct conflict w/ your relationship with him. It sux. It is really hard to compete when you have people in your life who just dont' get it or aren't interested. I don't have any answers for you, but if you can keep a more even keel to the extremes resulting from your diet (i.e. learn to anticipate a moody day & snappy responses to people who just seem to ask you the dumbest damn questions on those days) and maybe let those people know that it is a low carb day and maybe give you a little room or understandign if you do shoot off your mouth more than intended. And you will learn to identify the best way to handle things for you & for him. But don't jump to the conclusions that just make the whole situation worse - NO YOU DO NOT FEEL FAT! NO YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON! YES YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING THAT IS MEANINGFUL TO YOU BUT WILL CHALLENGE YOU TO THE CORE! And never lose sight of that. Keep things in perspective.

RE: cramps - suggest taking Evening Primrose (available in any grocery store or health food store). Also the usual - ibuprofin, etc.

Also as far as not seeing changes --- HAVE FAITH! You won't know what sort of amazing things your body can do when you let the miracle of metabolism run its course! Right now you are still training your body to respond to the regime. It is very hard & frustrating - but the last 4 weeks will amaze you! THe last 2 weeks will blow your mind! The last 5 days will make you think you woke up & saw a different person in the mirror!

Everything in the above stated is THE VERY REASON WHY SASSY IS WHO SHE IS!!!! THanks girl!!!!! I guess I am coming to terms with everything ...in time...in time

I really needed to read all this , Ive read the 'so you want to compete' thread but it is very different when everything said in there is ACTUALLY going on with me at this very moment. So the minutes, the hours, the days go by....Slowly I find my self walking around campus on my way to class and I feel like ripping EVERYONE'S head OFF!!!! Seriouslly....but Im WORKING on it. Ive talked to my BF and I have to work on being the girl I was before all this hit me like a TON of bricks(or at least try to be as close as possible).....Im starting to gain some confidence and I have a good feeling that everything will work out in the end. I am going to print what you wrote and will keep it around just IN CASE I start to wonder off the road a bit....it should kick my a$$ right back on track.

Like Ms. Bunny likes to say: "STFU and TRAIN woman!!!"<-----saying this to my self this very moment!!!!

lol ... The ladies are on your side yes. Always will be there for you. Treil & Scorp are GREAT ladies and by no means bash your SO with nothing but concern for you, and experiences based on what you posted ... his side or not.

Sassy is the best ... this lady should win an award for saying it like it is when you need most.

Tell bf to chill, nothing personal... we adore you & want to see you excel...period :)

Um, no. You will be a completely different person going thru this & after this. You will grow in so many ways & see so many new things about yourself, about life and just dealing w/ things. You learn how to set really high goals for yourself and achieve them. You learn to keep things in perspective - both in the sense of setting other goals against this one that you will have accomplished -- i.e. there ain't much you CAN"T do once you've survived 12+ weeks of strict competition training, gettign on stage in a skimpy little bikini to be judged like a dog at a dog show by a bunch of bored judges, but revered by girls, friends, family and fans who will wish they were you and could have your body and do what you've accomplished. And also in terms of realizing how big you can make things out to be when really its actually better to keep them not so big & in perspective (i.e. goddammit I'm doing a competition! Why are you all so friggen dumb & inconsiderate of me & my goals and my smelly broccoli???? as well as "OMG if I don't hit this competition date looking like Monica Brandt I don't deserve to exist on this planet OMG OMG OMG I'm SOOO FAT OMG OMG OMG...Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I WANT CHOCOLATE!")

It's YOUR accomplishment! YOUR show! But also will be one of MANY shows. One of MANY amazing accomplishments! And even if any of the goals you set out for in the future and maybe they dont' pan out like you wanted, there is always another possibly more important, but less flashy goal that you will accomplish that will have more meaning to you. Everything has its place in your life and you will grow in ways you never imagined from all of them, successes or non-successes.

I'm very excited for you! Welcome to the big time!

So the bf is training for the show too? WAAAY cool!!!!!

Bunn's was right, we only have your best interest at heart! Not to say that we wouldn't have his too....but hey....we don't know him - only you! I mean, look how much we love Nelm's around here!!! lol

I'm sure you know IN YOUR GUT (always remember, the gut don't lie!), what you really want out of your relationship. If you're being a butthead, snap out of it.....if you are "concerned" for some other reason, think about it and do what's right for you.

*Sassy....I studied my eye balls out of my head but it was so HARD...only b.c yesterday I had a lab and I accidentally got epinephrine in my eye and it COMPPLETELY dialated my left pupil. Lets just say reading with one eye is a challenge but I gotta do what I gotta do....LOL

Wow Aries, you can definitely see improvement!!

Awesome - keep at it :rose:

Do you have time to do some cardio 2x per day? EDIT: OK, you're thinking of doing that. HIIT early am would help.

Thanks!!!But I need lots and lots more HARD WORK!!!

I do HIIT 1hr. every morning....thinking of doing more later in the day as well....would that make me 'overtrain'? Some people told me it would....

ARIES GREAT job on the pullups all by yourself! Keep busting ass chica!

Legs & booty are tightening & delts looks GREAT ... :)

I read that during comp prep AM/PM Cardio is not uncommon. What does your Trainer say? Do you still have one?

The thing with the 'trainers' is weird. I am doing a study with them (for their thesis in exercise science) and in turn they teach me everything they know and help me out when needed. I will talk to one of my trainers on Thursday when I am back at school. I will most likely at least try to do 2-3 days a week with the am/pm cardio~2hrs cardio/day. I would do it every day but since I am in college and have 17credit hrs. this semester ...its hard. I dont know if maybe I should modify my diet????? I am changing Im just not changing enough and not in time....???...6 weeks left...and IM HUGE!

Thanks!!!But I need lots and lots more HARD WORK!!!

I do HIIT 1hr. every morning....thinking of doing more later in the day as well....would that make me 'overtrain'? Some people told me it would....

Sorry, I'm a dumbass. I read your log every day, duh.

Haven't noticed much fat in your diet lately - you were using flax oil - do you still take it?

Aries, just wanted to chime in and say great job....especially on the 2 sets of pull-ups on your own. Your back muscles must be s-t-r-o-n-g. I think your legs are showing a nice improvement too!

Your dedication is impressive. To be able to keep to this routine with 17 credits in college plus whatever peer pressure you must face is truly an accomplishment. :rose:

Did you get your results back from your hydrostat body fat test? Just curious how that worked out...

My trainer assured me that the diet is good so we shall see just how good it is. :) ....unless any of you girl have a better idea

Hope you feel better soon ... :) Are you taking any vitamin C ? or something to get you through the day?

Diet & Training ok?

Hey hun...well Im not sure whats going on but its pretty obvious. The diet/training are taking a toll on my body but nothing too serious(I hope). I missed my period this month(my BF went down 5% in 6 weeks) and I think that has something to do with my energy levels. They are wayyyyyy down, my training is not as good as it was( I fatigue faster than before...but still kick ass in that weight room...or at least I give it my all :) )

I take 1000mg vit. C every day....what should I consider to 'get me through the day' ??? The diet is still good, Ive finally cut my carbs way down and upped my fat/protein intake. Lately I havent been logging in as good b/c all I seem to find my self doing is sleeping right now when Im not at the gym. Im hanging in there....there's also some discouragement here too b/c I dont think Im lean enough to get on a stage(even with 5 weeks left). (BF=22%....My first BF was WRONG and was mixed up w. someone elses. I was way toooo embarassed to post BF after I found out....it was 27%)

Im bumping the cardio to 1.5-2hrs a day. I hope I dont pass out too much ....Im borderline anemic so when ever I diet and kick up the exercise, I get kinda messed up . I took all the necessary steps to prevent it but you never know(my doctor gave all kinds of horse pills to help me out....like zinc, magnesium, vit. b-6...copper...). Im gonna keep trying .... and I will put pics up on Monday, even if I think they suck :worried:

11am: 1hr. cario session....HIIT stair master(intervals of 1.5min 52 steps/120 steps/min)
12:30pm: 1/2c oatmeal(splenda/cinnamon), 1scoop 100% whey
2:30pm: 6egg whites
5pm: 5oz. turkey breast, 1/2c red kidney beans w. 1/4c brown rice(1TBS salsa)
6-7:30pm: GYM
Tris:
Dips: 15, 10, 5
Skull Crushers: 45lbsx12 4 sets
Pulldown: 40lbsx12, 40lbsx12, 30lbsx10, 30lbsx10

Military press: 20lb dumbells x 12 4 sets
Front raise: 10lbx12 4 sets
Side raise: 10lbx12 4 sets

Sweetheart...why so much cardio? Have you tried decreasing it and increasing weights and yoga? And then I would also cut your carbs to 50 gr of fibrous only and incorporate good healthy fats and protein. Mass amounts of cardio increase cortisol. It can be inpossible to lose fat with this going on.

So you are saying that if I do more cardio, I will gain weight? My weights are relatively high(keeping reps between 10-12 , some 12-15). You are also suggesting that I cut my carbs down to 50g/day? That would put me in a state of ketosis and I dont want that. I am however doing carb cycling, should I change that???? ;)

NO offense to playmatesky at ALL ...

Aries, I think since you are in comp prep, I'd stick to what you've been doing & follow the guidance of your trainer/sassy/whomever is helping guide you on this.

We all KNOW excess cardio can be hurtful, esp if you are not eating enough, which I think you are. Mass amounts of stress also increase Cortisol & for me without the cardio I would go :insane: ... I'm also a friggin animal :D

Anyway, I have seen AM PM cardio sesssions for comp prep ... Has your currrent routine been giving you results? Is it working for you and your goals at this time? From your previous posts I get the impression things have been working nicely to help lean out (i.e. old Training Partner bailing b/c you're getting better results than her on here miracle drug) ...

Just some things to think about, and NOT stress about... You've got enough on your pretty little shoulders here...

Comp ladies? Comments???

If you have a good nutritionist then I would stick with that person if you are seeing results. If not...look into a better one. I would always want one if I was not sure of how to tweak things for better results.
I can tell you this...I was doing cardio 6 days a week and weights 4 days a week.
I would lose bf but not as much as I should have been My diet was also super clean. I would not even add toxins like splenda, ect.
Now..some will disagree with me that splenda is even a toxic substance but it is.
I am studying to be a Naturopath Dr. so I am very much into things that are not going to hurt your body. I wasnt that way in the past but I have changed over time. Never perfect for sure though.LOL
Anyways...because of not being able to acheive my goals I became fustrated and sought advice from a world known nutritionist that is part of a company that trains olympic athletes across the world. Www.charlespoliquin.com
It cost a fortune but it was worth it. My goals were to get as cut as possible..Ie: 6 pack and to gain lbm
I had been eating 100 gr of carbs and had also tried the 2 high carb days with 2 gr of protein per pd of bw and 51 gr of fat. This was not working for me. I was using fitday to track things and even tried tweaking the shit. I was losing a little but pouding my ass in the gym with little results.
What I had suggested for you was was was suggested for me and all of the althletes Mr. Poliquin trains. Here it is:
I was told that I was going to eat no more than 50 gr of fibrous carbs each day. No starchy. I was also to eat 1.5 to 2 gr of protein per pd of bw and keep fat about the same which was 51 gr. She said not to obsess about the numbers though.
I was told to drop cardio to 1 or 2 days at the most and increase weights to 6 days and add in a lot of yoga.
I was like wtf? I will gain weight. I was told not to worry about that because there was no way and promised it works. And...it did. Finally I was able to lift more than cardio which I had always said I would rather lift than do cardio anyday.
With this plan I got very shredded and had great energy which to me I really doubted but had to try. I mean again..this guy trains olympic athletes and is known world wide.
I do take a lot of supplements but I know they help.
I have also noticed greater results when my body is not at such a toxic state.
I did a cleanse before all of this too.
Good luck sweetie.

Thanks girl...its always great to get help. Im studying to be a dietitian, so in a way this whole thing I am doing is my very own personal experiment. How far can diet take your body without too much 'artificial' help? I guess in the process my mind went totally berserk...you know, starting to feel kinda mental...my mood was switched around a lot, mentally I was more fuzzy rather than clear(I guess this happens the 1st time around). Compared to my VERY FIRST pics (which I have yet to put on here....and will in time :)) I am seeing a lot of results. In fact, a lot of people I know are saying that to me but I guess you are your own worst critic. I dont have the money...to pay someone to tell me what to do at all times. Train me, tell me what to put in my mouth, yell at me when I get LAZY....whatever else, Im sure its great to have but i have the ladies of EF...motivation...so all I gotta do is keep steady and stay focused, most importantly stay mentally focused...and it should all fall in its place.

ALso, it is my personal experience that what works for someone may not necessarilly work for someone else. I learned this the hard way...

Today is such a NASTY nasty day outside. Couldn't have picked a worse monday after spring break day my self...Anyway, cardio was a breeze this morning. Your journal's are so cute. I hate to break it to your but the fuzzy feeling and also catching a cold can be sypmtoms of overtraining. Are you doing anything for relaxation? Yoga is great for is as well as massage. I think you will do great. Rooting for ya!

Hey Sweetie!....are you sure that 1.5 HOURS of CARDIO isn't too much for you? Are you trying to lose a little muscle with the fat? If you're not, I would think about cutting that back some.

What you're experiencing with the appetite loss is what Sassy so lovingly refers to as "the ultimate mind f*ck". Just one of the things that you'll go thru during pre & post comp. Hang in there! :rose:

(I actually do 1.5 hrs cardio like 2-3 times a week...sometimess less....Im trying to BURN off as much as possible ..but Im mostly doing 1hr in the am and then weight training later in the day. I dont wanna lose any of the muscle I dont really have to begin with (haha)...so I'll keep track of how I feel (other than this intense mind f*ck!)------and if I drop a LOT on the scale at once...then I know what I gotta do ;

Just coming by to say hello. :wavey:

How far along did you start the cardio breeze? I will have to do cardio at 4 AM *whine* How long does it take for it to kick in?

Not Aries, but thought I'd butt in since I've been popping CB in the morning. For me, it takes about an hour to fully kick in and I take 2 CBs.

^^ I get up at 4 am, pop two, usually out the door & moving for training by 5am ... so looks like an hour ISH for me as well ... :)

Well, shoot...maybe I should wake up at 3:30 to take them! :worried:

Thanks for the infor Bunny and Rooney.

What I do is set my alarm, take them and go back to bed til I wake up ... usually the CB does that very well :) It's no joke when you hear us ladies say it's on our 'nightstand' ...

Really that long huh? When I take CB I would take it in the am, lay back down and my eyes pop open 15 minutes later and I'm ready to go.

I'll clarify ... I am usually just LYING there awake waiting for my body to catch up with my mind :D :) I can RELATE to you (of course) ... but if I'm tired , TIRED TIRED TIRED, no stim will get me outta bed period, my body will tell me when it's time to rest :)

Hello Ladies!!!! Just got back from my weigh-in and BF hydrostatic...well the RESULTS ARE CRAZYYYYYY!!! Im so freaking excited! The inches are coming off and its all on paper (which I will GLADLY post on here when the competition is over). I just dont have the paperwork..the trainer does and she needs it for her 'study'...Anyway..it will all be posted...pictures, measurements, bf changes.

-My competition weight will be 130- 135lbs! Sort of HIGH but its the best I can do. Here is what I remember off the top of my head:
February 3rd(i think)- 76kg(168lbs); BF 28%
March 23rd- 65kg(143lbs): dont know the BF yet...last time it was ~24%

***In reference to the CB question.....when I take it I will wake up at 6am(take 2) and leave in 15-20 minutes....I feel it INSTANTLY but for me it might be b.c I dont take it every day.

----->Im so HUNGRY right now but I must do cardio on emty. Im leaving in 1 minute, I'll take 2cb to help me out+ the rest of that medium apple from this morning.

Congrats on the great progress, Aries! :)

Why do you think 130-135 is high? How tall are you? How much lean mass did you start out with? My competition weight will be in that area as well...

THanks bunny...

----->I should be resting lying in bed right now, yet I find my self on elite...haha
I'm so tired lately.... I'm almost done with the contest diet ...then I have to rigure out a NEW and improved LoG..to keep my BUTT in line :)

I will, for the first time in my life, eat and live healthy. Everyone on here has such good logs with so much good info. I wonder what kind of diet I have to do to maintain my body?????

Anyone know what the "general" formula would be???? I think 12-14Xweight(lb) in calories. ????I was thinking of doing a 40/40/20 split...?..

-I gotta get my butt back in bed....I'm starting to get a headache. :eek2: UGH

....I think I have an appetite coming on!! whoo-hoo its been a while. Im thinking some shrim/broccoli stir fry....Got one more carb serving for the day... brown rice- yummy !! In an hour should be good. :p

Awesome job on the new results, Aries!!!! :garza:

For maintaining at your contest weight or are you planning on not staying 130-135? If you want to maintain at 130, your range should be 1300-1600 calories a day- whatever works best for you.

The baseline is usually 40/30/30 - but you can tweek that to whatever your body responds to most effectively. I know, I'm not giving you much here, huh?!?! :)
