Chondromalacia of Patella

i never post on the womans discussion board, but when i was younger i had (or supposedly had) chondomalacia of the Patella.
I had hurt my knee in karate, when iwas 10, and i couldnt walk normal at all . I went to the Ortho, they did some stuff, and then they said that i had some deterioating cartiladge or something, and Chondromalacia. This put me out of action for a while. He had me wear a knee imobilizer for a month to prevent my from moving it too much and let it heal. I was out of all pysical activity. I got an "E" on my report card in gym for being excused.

Later on, about 3 years later, i started lifting. and eventually when istarted squatting correctly(sitting back, going deep..etc) my knee got alot better. I havent had any trouble with my knee except if i run long distances.

Just strengthen the muscles around the patella.
Hope everything goes well

Actually my well was directed at that slacker known as temple.

SLACKER??????
REALLY????
Well, I'll have you know that this "slacker" can squat - thank you very much....and I do mean THANK YOU.
Just taking it slow, gradually adding weight.
The only thing that bothers them is after a weekend at the lake and I think it has to do with walking in the sand - can anyone explain why that would bother them? It only last a day or so and it isn't bad.

Well, when you walk on the sand your knees get exposed to lateral shearing force, although on a very minor scale. They are not really meant to wobble back and forth constantly.

Especially your knees.

Or mine, for that matter.
