Chicken Feed - introduction & 12 week plan

a couple comments about your diet. drop the creatine- women dont need it & it will bloat you, drop the soy milk & use non-fat milk or water. soy is basically terrible for you. i can find a few links that go into detail but generally stay away from soy & get your protein from whey.

at this point in your diet- your relying too heavy on protein shakes. I would only do those once a day max- eat real food now so you keep your muscle mass on while dieting.

good luck!

I love the results I get from creatine, and I don't find that creatine monohydrate (the worst culprit for bloating) even gives me bloating.

CEE, creatine ethyl ester, is meant to be minimal on the bloating factor.

I get the best results dieting when most of my protein is from real food.

I LOVE my whey protein, but right now I only get 40 g a day, 20 g in morning with breakfast, and 20 g post workout.

Post workout shakes are essential IMHO.

Thanks MsBeverlyHills!

Unfortunately I am lactose-intolerant and can't drink lactose-free milk so it's either soymilk or water. I'm not sure what a good whey protein source is other than protein powders (I can only tolerate small amounts of cottage cheese & yogurt), which is why I am having 1-2 scoops of powder a day. But I'll look this up.

Although I've heard that soy isn't as effective other proteins, I thought it was myth that soy protein is bad for you? I'm curious to find out, because I love the taste & versatility of soy.

I think quality soya products are fine, this means that they are organic and not highly processed, tofu, tempeh, and even plain soya milk (this can be difficult to digest, so I usually heat mine up when I use it).

I think it got a bad rap from it being a phyto-oestrogen, and to most guys, oestrogen is BAD as they think it will hamper any gains from testosterone, this is not true, you also need oestrogen to grow muscle, there are some links between growth hormone levels and oestrogen.

The other issue is the highly processed tofu/soya products from genetically modified crops, I would minimise these in your diet.
