hey guys well ive noticed that my left peck is bigger than my right mostly on the upper inner part :( but as a whole as well... what exercises should i do to fix this... i was think dumb bells from now on and no more barbell till it catches up...? any good chest routines out there? thanks guys

sometimes time is the best thing to help that out...just make sure you have good form with everything your doing. It could be an imbalance due to a sport...try and find out whats causing it.

Brother, I have exactly the same problem. My right pec is much larger than my left pec. It was a lot more noticeable before I started lifting, and it's slowly evening out now.

There's no reason you have to give up barbell bench pressing, you just have to watch your form carefully and NOT let your strong arm do ANY more work than the weaker one.

Dumbbell bench presses are perfect too, especially in conjunction with barbell bench presses. Match your arms - if the weaker one isn't going up, don't let the stronger one. You can even try doing extra sets for the weaker pec.

Yesterday I hit a PR (150x5,5,5) on the bench, and today only my left pec is sore. It will be like that a lot if you're doing everything right. It's only been two months and I've made huge leaps towards evening my chest out, doing only this.

Good luck with your pec.

I'd use dumbells for all your chest routine, allows for a better seperation between your left and right pec... if you're using a barbell, its easier to let one side or the other carry the load. Also, it could be from overusing one side for another activity. I play alot of squash, and have a hell of a time balancing my forearms. The racquet movement overdevelops one side, and leaves the other behind quite easily!

Dumbells can actually lead to more of an imbalance because one side will be able to handle more weight(the bigger pec) and so for the other side to keep up it will travel through a different plane of motion creating more tricep involvement. With a bar you can be sure your hands are set up in an even spot. I wouldnt go overly heavy, but still push yourself and focus on slow and controlled reps contracting your chest on each one. Then it will be hard for you to really be cheating or anything.

I think you are over-reacting!! You need to hit the basics, such as heavy presses and flyes. Eventually everything will balance out. Don't be too critical. . .it takes years to develop a physique.

More muscle= less appearance of imbalance since the size percentage will decrease with more mas... If there is a real imbalance then I would suggest you lessesn the weight and work on form untill there is no disparity between each side...

That's an excellent point too.

Look, the best I can do to prove my point is post a picture.

The top picture was from a long time ago. That's how I naturally was, without any lifting or physical work. The august picture was after my first two months of training doing nothing but what I described above.

Like I said, find a weight you can do with the weaker pec, and match it with stronger one. Watch your form, and you're golden.

Okay?
