Cardio and weights on same day

Whats the best to handle doing cardio and weights on the same day? Cardio first then weights immediately after, weights then cardio, one in the morning and one at night?
Goal is getting cardio but not at the expense of muscle/strength gains
 
i have found success with post workout cardio. ive tried everything pretty much too. i found am cardio to zap alittle off the weight session later. just my experience though. everyone will differ.
 
What about the importance of protein intake immediately after the weights, can it wait an hour or so while doing cardio or does it matter

It can wait. Eat a good meal before you go to the gym and sip some BCAAs while you train. Xtend or Core ABC make great BCAA plus extras supps for intra workout.

But if i eat too close to working out it makes me a little sluggish lol how soon before a workout can i eat without compromising

One hour works for me or i'll just have a shake instead of a full meal.

Cardio after the weight session, just have your bcaas mixed in the water.
 
I usually eat between one and two hours preworkout. I do typically use an intra workout bcaa supp too.

i like cardio early and wait at least 2 meals and some rest before i hit the weights.
 
right now im doing cardio in my first session of the day and then i get my weights in at night with 20 mins of cardio before.. it warms me up nicely. i dont like to do much more than 20 or 30 mins directly before hand just in case i lose a bit of energy.

its not as gratifying for me to finish a session on cardio.
 
i do cardio after weights, sometimes i eat a meal like 15mins before setting off for the gym, sometimes its an hour before, sometimes i throw ANPB, bananas, milk, skim milk powder, eggs, oats into a blender and drink that right before i set off for the gym. Depends what i feel like eating.
 
30 min treadmill after every upper body workout. 30-60 min on bike after leg day.
