cant lost the BF

chelly88 said:
ok... i used to eat carbs later in the day after dinner... but it was only popcorn, nothing else but have since cut that out... what time should i stop eating carbs?
i've stopped drinking altogether now since i'm quitting smoking... cant drink without a smoke. and i have quit drinking before while dieting and exercising but still didnt make any difference that i noticed.
my main carb sources are whole wheat bread (which i dont even eat that much of since i hate sandwiches...only eat it in the morning)( brown rice, vegetables... no refined carbs, no sugar.
calories at present are at about 1000-1300 calories a day but were at 1500-1700 before.
before when i exercised i didnt even bother watching my heart rate because i was so focused on burning calories... especially after working out for a while and realized that i wasnt dropping BF.

ok...this is what i ate yesterday

breakfast 9:30am- 2 slices whole wheat bread with 2 tbsp peanut butter
2 cups water

snack- missed this ( i know, not good...) was in class

lunch12:30pm- 3 fat free weiners (only 118 cals, lots of protein)
2 pickles (i know, sodium...but i dont eat them too much... and my sodium intake has gone way down since i quit smoking:D)
1 cup cauliflaur (half was going to be part of my snack)

snack- 2:30-apple

dinner:6:30pm- one chicken breast, large salad with 1 tsp dressing, 1/4 cup beans

this was yesterday and lately has been close to this...if not worse. i'm just starting university so i'm still trying to get into the routine. i'm looking into on-campus meal plans but they dont look good... i'm just stumped as to what i can bring (besides always eating protein bars) that i can eat without a huge hassle and bring that won't take up a lot of space. i can't carrry a backpack (back problems)...
thx guys

Where to start... 1st forget all about taking clen, or any another "fatburner" because your diet is a mess, I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just meaning honest.

Ok 1st you are starving yourself. Your calories should be at 10-12 times your bodyweight. So you said you weight 158lbs you calories should be between 1580 and 1896. If you do not eat enough, your body goes into starvation mode and will not let the fat go.

2nd, use this ratio 40% protein, 30% carbs, and 30% fats. Use fitday.com to track this.

Weiners are not a good source of protein, also you should have protein at every meal. If you need soe help with a 100% clean diet, go to the ladies forum and check out the stickies, there are diets from Shadow and Daisy there.

There are good sources of protein: egg whites, tuna, chicken, turkey, not that processed crap either.

Good carbs of carbs: Oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potato, all fruits and veggies

Good fat sources: olive oil, all natural peanut butter avacado, coconut oil, almonds flaxseed oil.

Also if I were you I would drop the bread.

Anybody around here ever ask the person giving the advice just what their qualifications are? I have been reading a lot and have yet to see anybody state their degree, where their clinic is or how many decades they have been treating people.

Hopefully it is more than "Hey I'm lean so I can help you get lean" or "I'm a big mofo so just follow what I do and you can be a big mofo too"

You don't need qualifications to offer someone advice. Personal experience counts for a lot more than a piece of paper which says your smart

Dan Duchaine wasnt a cert traner or nutritionist......

OK Forget the degree just tell me your qualifications.

Qualifications don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Results do, however, as well as reputation. Sit back, read posts, you'll see who is respected around here.

OK results you say. results would be your qualification then. ie. "I have trained 20 people and here are the before and after pics". So nobody should be upset if they are asked about how many people they trained and pics to prove it right?

Why should they have to "prove" anything to you? The person ASKING for the advice should only be asking if they are willing to accept the giver's background as sufficient to impart knowledge.

If you want certification/licensure/PROOF then perhaps you should fork over the cash to someone you KNOW holds the certification rather than asking on an anonymous message board?

And if I offered my suggestions to someone after THEY came to a message board asking for advice and the person had the balls to request PROOF that my knowledge was sufficient, I'd kindly tell them to screw off. :)

That's almost saying you would have to be a retard to come here and ask/accept advice from somebody you dont know from Adam. Lets face it the
"advice" could easily be coming from a teen-age computer nerd with a personal training text book.

If you are soliciting advice on an anonymous message board you should be prepared to

1) get both good AND bad advice
2) visit the message board enough to know who has a solid reputation and
3) either BEGIN WITH or FOLLOW UP WITH your own research.

If someone is too damn lazy to google/ask questions/find solid research on what they are asking about, then in my opinion they get what they deserve.

My point is this - It is NOT, NOT my responsibility to provide you with proof that I am certified or licensed to give you advice. YOU are asking the question, YOU are looking for advice. It is therefore YOUR responsibility to make sure the advice is solid by looking for supporting research.

If you want that kind of proof, find a sports doctor and nutritionist in your area and get off your pocketbook to pay for the assurance. You'll find that most people who are eager to PROVE their abilities also like to CHARGE for access to their products/knowledge/etc.

Personally, I am just happy as a clam to absorb as much knowledge as I can from these boards, as they are filled with people whom I believe have real world experience. Then I augment that knowledge by doing my own research. Takes a bit of time, but saves my financial resources for more important things... like chicken and protein powder.
