Canadians are not happy about the figure skating results...

The captain of the French team just said he believed the french judge was manipulated into a deal with the Russians because she is a "fragile person".

So now even the French are saying the French judge rigged it.

It's all anyone is talking about up here. It's been the lead story on the news for the last 2 days.

What's stupid is that there are plenty of other sports which use a similar grading system (snowboarding, freestyle skiing), and they've never had problems thier judges.

Anyway, I don't really care much about figure skating. I like the fact that Canadains ususally dominate the sport, but that's about it.

Oh, and I will agree that almost all the women (like 90%+) are HOT. Most of the men are gay, but who gives a shit.

Just the fact that the males are able to do all of that close contact skating wearing those tights and not have a boner tells me they are gay. I think it is a prerequisite to be a male figure skater.

No such thing as flawless. It is always going to be a "judgement" call in this type of event. Don't they throw out the lowest and highest score like in diving to account for mistakes?

Flawless judgement no - flawless figure skating program - yes.

The Canadian skaters had less technical errors than the Russian skaters and the Russians win was only because the French judge gave an extra 1/10 of a point to the Russian to gaurantee the Russian judge to give her country's dance team a higher score... regardless of how the may or may not skate.

They are talking about giving out two Gold Medals.

I think giving out two golds would be a cop-out. If the Canadians feel that strongly about the whole thing, they should perform an act of defiance on the medal stand like Tommie Smith and John Carlos gibing the black power salute in '68.
