JoNeS New member Apr 24, 2005 #1 Lately I've been throwing quaker instant oats (raw) into my protein shake and just chuggin. I find it easier and tastier than eating hot oatmeal. Heard in another thread that you can't digest raw oats and that you should cook them. What's the verdict?

outset2 New member Apr 24, 2005 #2 I used to do that, but it gave me the runs and stomach aches sometimes. I don’t know if that’s because it wasn’t digesting or just me. I have no problem with cooked oats (natural type not quick).

Deltroit New member Apr 27, 2005 #6 yes you can eat em that way. Many pros eat gobs of dry oats contest day to help pull in extra water.
