like my flacid i'll keep it short

Back in August my ex, while I was at worked, packed up her stuff from my house and moved back with her mom in San Fran (7 hrs away). She took the TV, Ipad, the good stuff. That is replacable though, except our cats aren't and she took them to.

A girl I worked with found little flea'd up kittens in box, homeless in the park. I decided to it would be sooooo boyfriend like to suprise my gf at the time with one and raise him, (named him Kritter) two months later bought another one (named her Turtle). Well I fell in love, became cat fancy and it's been 6 months since I last saw my lil guys, no contact with the ex.

How can I go about getting back one of them/both? Is it legally possible to take to small claims?

I don't know for sure but I don't think so. She has possession , you weren't married and one was technically a gift. You can try but seeing it's been six months it might not work out in your favor. Good luck if you try. You might be able to get one back.

Does Texas have a De facto partnership/ marriage? If yes (I just know about NY law) then you could (through a Court Process) get them, if not then not as far as she has possession even though you could have property over them.

In this particular case, if you could, I'd go to her new house and get them (guess easier to say than done).

Anyway if it can help a few notes into Law,
