I somewhat disagree, only because I bought friends for a female friend in college after she had surgery. Other than that I have bought them mostly to apologize for something stupid.

Yeah, I meant that the exception was the buying of flowers for a sick friend.
Come to think of it I've done that for two friends, so I am about 50/50 on buying flowers for non-sexual and sexual interest.
