Breast Implants, Over or under the muscle?

GF is getting the boob job soon and I was wondering what are the benefits or drawbacks of going over and under the muscle.

I heard the major drawback to getting them over the muscle is that in 5 yrs. you will start to get stretchmarks. Is this true?
 
I would post this in the womens baord, but also do a search for this very topic, i know its been discussed there babe...
 
under the muscle. my ex-g/f's doctor said ripples and other obvious tell tale signs are less visible. however that leaves doing any kind of chest excersizes out of the question.
 
My g/f got hers under the muscle on Nov. 7th. Over the muscle looks less natural than under the muscle.. Under the muscle you've also got natural breast tissue at the top so they're a little softer.. under the muscle they are less likely to sag..
 
If she does heavy chest training they will advise her on getting them over the muscle so it doesn't disrupt the muscles. Over the muscle gives the boobs more of an uplift look, however, they look less natural.

She does no weight training.

I guess from all the answers so far under the muscle is the way to go.
 
freakmonster...don't know your GF's situation but usually the doctor will discuss the options with you and make his recommendation. There is no absoute rule. There are a ton of sites with info on this if you do a little web searching. In general though, there seems to be more consensus that under the muscle is better (ablility to breast feed, less hardening of breasts due to scar tissue, better overall appearance, etc.) Just make sure you have a good doctor and that your GF's expectations are realistic. Some of the worst results are because some women try to go very large for the amount of natural breast tissue they have. This results in very tight, hard , unnatural looking breasts. Good luck.

We will be going to the doctor today. She is a b cup with very loose skin so she can go pretty big if she wants without them looking really fake.

...by far. they look a lot more natural under the muscle! especially if she does not weight train that is the best way to go. (can't tell i have them under now can ya?!?!) although the best advice i can give is to research both options before she makes a decision that best suits her.
 
We went to the consultation today and the doctor said she should get them under the muscle. The doctor said they are gonna look great!!!! She put the implants in a d sized bra to see what they will look like and they look AWESOME!!!! I'm very pumped about it. She will have the surgery done next Friday, So I will keep you all updated on how it goes. The doctor said she will get between 425cc's to 525cc's!!!!

i went to A-B to C-D cup size...depending on the bra. i had 320 bags overfilled to about 370cc's....so as to prevent wrinkling of the bag. (overfilling prevents or reduces that problem as well as going under the muscle).

freakmonster...you will have to keep us updated. very interested in how she does! i am excited for her! although....the pain is pretty awful! my ex literally had to push me up and lay me down in bed! although, the pain killers...from what i remember...were pretty nice!!!
 
hey freakmonster, are they going through the nipple or what? for my ex they went through the nipple, and it took her a while to get the feeling back. However there was no visible scar.

Doctor said he was gonna make the incision under the breast fold. He said the scar is gonna be barely visible. He is one of the best doctors in town. The breasts are gonna cost $4000.

I'll be posting pics once there done. She will be getting the surgery next Friday.
 
sounds like doc knows what he is talking about. in my opinion, under is better. going through the fold is the best! going under the arm tends to make the breast go out towards the sides more. going through the areola, women run the risk of never getting sensation back. these days, you can go through the belly button too but only with above the muscle.

wish her well for me! cannot wait to see how she likes them!! :)

When she put the bags in the d bra and put a tank top over them they looked AWESOME!!! She just wanted to walk out with them like that, LOL.

I just get a woody just thinking about it, hehe!!!
 
Milhouse, who's that guy in your avatar? Have you seen Scary Movie 2 where he was Wayan's brain on drugs? Funny as hell, only good part in that movie. Was this guy in the Ghetto Boys?

I have had both placements and unders suck..lots of distortion when you use the pec muscle. The only reason unders became popular is because saline was being used and it is not as soft and silicone and tends to ripple (wavy look and feel) and this has to be covered. Now that silicone is in full use in the USA (I live in Australia where they have been used since 1992, so not new here) there is no reason to go with unders. Also they do NOT look any more natural than overs..as long as the implant is the right dimensions to suit the lady and not over sized. Also overs DO NOT interfer with breastfeeding...have fed both my boys no problems. also my overs look far more natural than my unders did..but they are silicone so very soft looking and feeling.

That said..hope your GFs BA goes off without a hitch ;-) let us know how she goes. A good site for her to go to is www.implantinfo.com lots of info and ladies to support her.

I had my first two boob jobs done under the muscle and they looked horrible! You will be able to tell if it's done under the muscle, due to the fact she will have a BIG space between the boobs.....NO clevage!!! When she lies down they will lye sooooo far apart!! I had the next boob job done on top of the muscle and BOY what a difference!! Double DD's with cleavage! They look natural that way!!! I've seen plenty of boob jobs done, I worked in a tanning salon and saw many strippers, they looked the BEST on top of the muscle!!! Hope this helps!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
 
I have had both placements. My overs look more natural and move a LOT more naturally. Unders move when you use the muscle. There is not a lot of benefit for covering rippling..as only the top half of the implant is covered anyway..and the ripples are more at the bottom.

Well fingers crossed you paid the extra $$$ and got silicone..saline was such a waste of money IMO

My sister went thru the nipple and her scar is very visible! Go thru the navel, no signs there! And make sure to go over the muscle, clevage is better! Under the musle looks fake due to the BIG gap between your boobs, especially when you are naked or lying down...My first two boob jobs were done under and that was my result...3rd boob job done on top and what a difference..Double DD's and clevage for days! Look way more natural and always go a little bigger...when the swelling goes down you will have wished for that.... Good Luck!
