Braces/straps for heavy lifts

Do these really help? Apparently I have developed tendinitis in my elbows and possibly my knee, and my joints are starting to really hurt to where I'm not able to do max reps on alot of stuff. I'm going to take some time off - and after that, am contemplating whether or not to get some - so do they really help?

I'm also taking Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and MSM.
 
I can't see how straps would help your joints. They're usually for assistance for a weak grip, not weak joints.

Keeping your joints warm might help some. Icy Hot before and after, and keeping your elbows warm with a neoprene (sp?) wrap of some sort.

My elbow bothers me somewhat as well, and doing the above really helps me.

I pop between 400mg-1g ibuprofen pre-workout

For grip strength I use chalk, nothing like it. Ditch the straps, they suck schlong pretty bad

For my bad elbow I use a ton of icyhot and slide a sleeve over it.

For my knee I drench it in icyhot and wrap, then brace it

My back gets icy hot and a belt(no choice in the matter)


Don't know if you use gear, but deca made a world of difference for me.
