body weight up or down ? Help !!!

can someone help me with this.

first of all I am female, 5'6, 135 lbs, 23% bf.

my goal is gaining muscle !!!!!! I lift heavy 4-5 x a week. I train each body part once a week. 10-12 reps. 3-6 sets. It differs.

Anyway, I am a huge fan of Oxygen mag & planet muscle magazine. When I see the pics of women who had put on mass, they all go down in weight on the scale ?

my weight on the scale is going up ? I went from 130 to 135 lbs. so what I trying to ask is that if I want to add mass should my weight be dropping or increasing ? I'm confused now !!!!

PS: I eat 4-5 times a day. usually my carbs consist of oatmeal, banannas, rice or pasta ( Brown ) I try to have my carbs in & done by 4:00 pm.
after 4pm I try not to have any more carbs. I usually have protein & maybe a low carb such as green beans, spinach, or salad.

Please clear this up for me ? maybe I am suppossed to be going up on the scale ? if I am suppossed to be going down, do I cut out more carbs ?

Thanks ?

In how much time did you gain the 5 lbs? You could be putting on muscle, but not reducing bodyfat, and that would make the weight on the scale go up.

It also could be water retention, how much water have you been drinking on a daily basis? When you weighed yourself was it around that time of month?

How are your clothes fitting?

How long have you been following your current diet? Our bodies are funny, and when we change our diets, training, and water intake, it can add or take off a few pounds, until it gets used to the change.

I'm in the same boat as u.. same weight and everything and although i ahve noitced a few pounds on the scale, my cloths fit alot better... don't worry bout it :)
