BODY TEMPERATURE after wake up

sasa

New member
Hi, just silly question, it concern me littel bit. Last coupel of days I have temperature after wake up under 97.7..today for ex.just 97.0F...what it can meant? Is it normal or I should concern myself.
thanks!!!!

Normal termp is 98.6 °F(37 °C). You are only slightly below but low body temp can also be a sign of hypothyroidism. Here are some other signs fatigue, weakness, lethargy, weight gain, depression, memory problems, constipation, dry skin, intolerance to cold, coarse and thinning hair, brittle nails, or a yellowish tint to the skin. If you have a few other symptons I would see your Dr. and get a blood test to check your thyroid.

Yeah I read about this the other day.... Same thing it could be a sign your adrenal system is a bit stressed too. So if you have been under some state of stress it will also be lower.

It depends.

Do you recall if you've ever had a "normal" body temp?
Not everyone is 98.6.

My "normal range" in the AM hovers at 97.1 - my temp has gone down as low as 95.1 - 96.5 for periods of time. It's always been low and only recently has stabilized.

The only time my temp is in the 98+ plus range is when I have a migraine and the temp and blood pressure skyrocket.

What is your blood pressure like?
If you know, what was your AM body temp prior to being treated for thyroid?

I second what Velvett said - I'm not a 98.6 temperature person.....what's normal for me is around 97 or a little above......

Have you been tracking your waking temp. for some time?? What is it normally?? Is this significantly lower than usual?? It could be a sign of a health problem or a sign that your metabolism is down.....

Thank you ladies :bigkiss:

I've been wondering about this subject myself. This past weekend I started taking my temp first thing in the morning before I get out of bed. I'm trying to determine what "normal" is for me. I want to track it for at least a month and then give the info to my dr.

I've read recently that some people can have thyroid or adrenal issues but their "test numbers" are within the "normal" range. It was determined that normal for most people didn't apply to them and that they responded very well to medicinal therapies.

Hi girls...I had before sometimes around 98, but it's true I took thyroid pills and I was overmedicated, so now I watching what's going on with my body..but what interesting is..I have more energy than before..maybe morning cardio is good for awake me. But how I see probably I'm in normal!!

And treilin...that's maybe right...stress could lower it..sometimes I have low body tempera if I don't sleep enough..I workout 2x/day..my job is cleaning..maybe lot of.

This will take a while to correct but keep doing what you are doing and in time things will slowly improve, eat enough, keep doing your training and take note of how you feel.
