Bi's and Tri's on the SAME DAY??

I've seen conflicting opinions on this. I've been religiously lifting now for 4 years and i've really never changed from Chest/ Bis and then Back / Tris. However, I've alway's felt my arms to be smaller than they could be. What's your take on this???

Mule..

I've been working out bi's & tri's on the same day for about a month now and I love it. My arms have been getting a great pump. I usually will do 3 sets bi's, 3 sets tri's, back and forth, etc. Just try it out and see how it feels to you. I think I can get a better tricep workout w/o doing chest first.

I take it you are doing a 4 day split right now so if you don't mind going the extra day then I say go for it. Try it out for a month or two and see if you like it. I would suggest doing it either on a thursday and legs friday or do it on a friday and work legs monday. That way you have plenty of time to recuperate and it won't affect any other lifts.

I work bis and tris together all the time. twice a week due to my arms being a slowgaining portion of my body. It is the only thing that works for me but you need to remember to do arms like you do other bodyparts. Make sure you go till failure.

I've recently started training as recommended in BFL, i.e. whole upper body then legs and abs next workout and so on. Must say I've also noticed a difference not only in my arms but also in my shoulders etc. I didn't think it would be a good plan as you wouldn't be able to lift as much as doing say back/bi chest/tri and abs/legs on separate days, but it seems to be working, give it a whirl!

I get the best results by splitting antagonist muscles in a work-out. I do bi's and tri's, Quads and Hams, Chest and horizontal pull and shoullders and vertical pull. I get the huge pumps from this and alternating seems to add strength to both lifts.

Yeah definitely I supersetted bis and tris together for a long time. I would do standing ez-bar curls and immediately after a set of lying ez-bar ext. using the same weight. Supersetting your bis and tris will really hammer them into new growth in my opinion really pumping your arms up to the extreme.

Something that I didnt mention was be sure to alternating starting with bis first followed by tris then tris followed by bis. Dont continually start off with a biceps exercise when your fresh and leave tris coming along second. Thats just my opinion.

My latest split:

Mon= Arms :)
Tue= Quads, Calves
Wed= off
Thur= Chest, Delts
Fri= Back, Hams, Traps

Weekend= off

Been doing bi's/tri's forever. About to change it up with chest and tri's and back and bi's. But so far so good with the bi's/tri's. Atleast been doing that for two years. I am a bit weaker doing bi's after back actually so I am not sure which is better. I was happy with bi's/tri's though.

Changing it up..

I just changed up my Routine and went with a Bi's/Tri's workout for the same day. The one thing I can tell you is that my body responded very well to it. I almost immediately saw improvements in my triceps size and definition while my bi's didn't see the same gains.

If u need extra arm-size bi+tris same workout is way to go. However when i do that them guns tend to get a bit ahead on my torso so i usually do:

bi - delts or delt - tri

only train biceps or tri 1 * a week. I make sure I use good weight on the other compound movements so bis and tris stay full

We are not talking about ronnie coleman who trains back and biceps on same day, his arms are so freaky, they need the heavy back workout just to get warmed up

:)

Doing bis and tris on the same day rock. do a tri excercise and then a bi excercise then a tri excercise and so on. THe pump is excellent. This will also allow you to prioritize the bigger muscles by themselves such as chest OR BACK.

Thanks for the reply's fellas.. I did start Tris/Bis on the same day last monday. Hit them Monday, and yesterday. What a pump. I'm hoping this will get me past the latest plateu (sp).

Peace...
Mule

Bis and tris

I find that doing tris on a difff day than chest is more beneficial. Reason being is because after chest, when you get to tris the tris are already tored so you dont get a mximum workout. If you do tris with back they will be fresh and not fatigue after your back workout. Same with bis, if you do bis and back togethr your bis ahve already had a workout from back, so when u get into your bicep workout they are fatigue. I dont know, this is just my routine and what i feel comfortable with. Im not no pro, just staing my opinion:p

I always do bis and tris together. I love the way my arms look after a killer bis and tris workout. I spend like 5 mins before I leave just looking in the mirror!!LOL!!!

See ya,
