Birth Control...

I have been on depo-provera for 12 years, and I love it!! Not only have I never ever had a pregnancy scare (I have never bought or had a pregnancy test in my life) but I am one of those people who are usually the text book case of how drugs are supposed to work. I dont bleed, ever, and that to me is worth staying on for as long as I possibly can. It can cause loss of bone density, and I have had to go for a bone density test, and everything is good. I have a friend who tried it years ago, and she got the straight month of bleeding, went off it, and then went back on like 6 years later after she had her kid, and now it works just fine for her. As for weight gain, I dont know if I can blame any of my weight gain strictly on the depo, but if I work hard, I can keep the weight off. My man loves that I am on it, because I dont have any crazy hormonal mood swings, he knows what to expect from me all through the month, hehe!

I may be heading into perimenopause and read something that says to go for low progestorone bc. Of course I'll double check w/my doc at my annual still a few months away, but any recommendations? Know a low pregesterone b.c.?
