big bang, theory of creation

I don't beleive in something coming from nothing, so the big bang is somewhat suspect in my book. For the big bang to be solidified, they have to find a catalyst for it. What was occupying the space we occupy before the big bang?? The concept of nothingness is very uneasy to me, which is very central to alot of theories. who knows, I really don't care too much. That's why I chose the path of engineering over physics. I would rather be working on practical applications of technology that better mankind. Not saying that what these guys are doing is worthless, I just find it not as important in the grand scheme of things. Finding out how the universe was created is certainly fascinating and science worthy, but it doesn't make anyone's lives better......well, except for maybe the fellows who discover it or come up with the unification theory.:D

Concerning that which cannot be talked about, we should not say anything. We cannot talk about it, but we can experience it(this earth). The way to experience is to abandon our habit of perceiving everything through others concepts and representations. The ultimate dimension of knowing and reality have nothing to do with concepts. peace

Hmmm...this is an ineteresting topic...Well here it goes..

The theory of creation is alittle of both and not...Some people say God created all and some people say the Big Bang created all...

Now lets think here...who is to say that either is right or wrong..maybe we are a part of a gigantic universe, but who is to say that our universe as we know it isn't some higher beings though stirring. Could we gauge this by any measure...Not really, but if the universe was created by a higher being(GOD) who is to say that he is the only higher being other than himself. Maybe someone more advanced and at a higher level of consciuosness has a Universe somewhere else....Could it be that what we perceive is truly what is...can it that the Big Bang was just the beginning of a thought process for someone more enlightned than us...Well who is to say, but I believe that we might just be the cosmic snow globe of someone....

bro, if i could find my paper from college english i'd send it to you. It was actually a great paper, got an A at chapel hill with it. It combined God and the big bang theory. Something along the lines of god creating the primordial seeds of matter that burst forth to create what we had today. I'll try and dig it up and write some exerpts from it. I never actually knew what i believed till i wrote it.

See...the thing is, the concept of the beginning of time is not being addressed here.

even if all the matter in the universe was compressed to an infinitely dense ball of gases and exploded into today's universe, what was around before that?

Who made space? Why is there space? What is reality?

It is naive of us to believe that we are the highest beings in the Universe.

Forget religion for a second. Free your mind of all notions of God. This shit didn;t just come from no where, and even if there were a BIG BANG, what was before that?

Why is it here?

There are beings greater than humans - be they Gods, aliens, superaturals, who knows. I'm pretty sure they know about us - but just find us boring and choose not to bother.

Unspoken laws of the universe.

A. Time is a perception of conciousness. Once you are dead it's of no consequence to you.

B. Time intersects space in motion at right angles to conciousness.

C. Memories are recorded in space and time at the point they occur.

D. The older you get the stonger the force of gravity becomes.

How does God fortify the use of free will in this plan-no slam-just my own edification.

If everything is predetermined than why even have the mention of sin anywhere.

God gives us free will for a reason. He very well could force us to love Him and then he would not have to worry about us turning away from Him, but He wants us to love Him and not be forced into it. It is like when you have a kid. You want your kid to love and you shouldn't have to force your kid to love you. When your kid or we love God out of free choice it is much more pleasing to He and us. As far as everything being predetermined, I'm not sure if that is true. I am a Christian and I have had this discussion with some other Christians. I find it hard to believe that everything is predetermined. In my mind, this would mean that no matter what I do, my future is set and there is nothing I can do about this. It is just really hard for me to swallow that fact.

I don't think God "plans" what will happen, i think God "knows" what will happen. I think God is not bound by time, so it's not like he sees tomorrow or next year. He sees the whole world from start to finish right now.
