I have no platinum Membership and searched around and can't find too many answers on which brand or product is the Best. So what is your Best overall Weight Gainer/Meal Replacment Powder, determinded by taste, calories, protein, and price. Thanks I think this should help alot out there.

Real food is much better cause with the shakes your metabolism is not going to be keeping its pace.
As with my name i much like Mammoth2500. Huge calories, high protein and tastes good with milk and choc milk.

In all honesty fuck weight gainers!!! Real food helps you gain weight. If your diet is 99.9% and you need that extra push then weight gainers are ok. Try using optimium whey, 2 scoops with 3/4 cup oats and milk. Blend it all together. You can add some peanut butter if ya like it. It sounds nasty but if ya blend it up good and its cold then....YUM! Its like a cookie. Trust me!

While it is true that real food is the best, weight gainers aren't a waste of time. I use N-Large2. I use a weight gainer, because sometimes I just don't have the time or money to cook/buy a real meal. Try the N-Large2. It tastes good, and if made with milk has 750 calories, with very little fat, and 60 grams of protein.

weight gainers are a waist of money. all it is is a high cal protein shake. I would go with 100% whey buy Opt Nutrition. Its inexpensive but u get alot for ur money. 77 servings 24g protien and low fat mix it with milk and u get like 300 cals. Watch out though cause alot of powder tells u to take like 50 g of protien in one serving and ur body cant really absorb more then 35 so its a waste of money. ON 100% whey bout 32 bucks at vit shoppe but on sale at 25 till fri sept 30th. I work there.

bro, most weight gainers and meal replacement powders substitute dextrose and malodetrose (sp?) for their carbs. Fast insulin spike with nothing else.

You can make your own weight gainer very easily and it would be more beneficial. Get some whey protein, add in some oatmeal for the complex carbs (you won't taste it at all), throw in a couple of graham crackers and whole milk. 3 of these a day will have you growing good. Some people even add a 1/4 cup of cashews to the mix for good fats. I have tried one before and it was really really good. It tasted 200x better than I thought it would.

N-Large to me was a waste of money and gave me gas like nothing else.

1/2 gallon of skim milk every morning does a body good ;) 720 calories, 72g protein and somewhere around 350 carbs (if I remember correctly). IMO that is a good way to put down some major calories. Or you could always get the 2200 weight gainer from GNC. But I do agree with everyone else, use them as a supplement but not a complete replacement, food is almost always better for you.

for people who can gain wieght of consuming 5000 cals a day yeah weight gainers are garbage!!!!.....lol

but what about the person who wants to all out bulk and comsume as much as they possibly can... i feel as though sometimes i can only stomach sooo much real food nd everyonce and a while its nice to have a shake to mix it up.

that being said pro lab n lare 2 is the way to go :chomp:

Are people saying that weightgainers don't work? Or just that they are too expensive?

Calories are calories, boys. I agree that homemade weightgainers with protein, oatmeal, etc are great, but you'll grow as long as you eat enough calories.

I like isopure and the BSN product's. Obviously whole food is better but if you can't choke down that much whole food there is absolutley nothing wrong with using a meal replacement,it's better than nothing. Some people will say they aren't good but they must have a bottomless gut.

Thanks for the reply's, I knwo solid food is better for you...that should be a no brainer. I just live a very busy lifestyle and like others said don't have access to a blender or real food all the time so a shake a day helps out alot and not worried about fat, will worry about that when summer comes around again...oh wait I will be deployed so I have almost 2 years to bulk up so bring on the calories. Thanks again guys.

Calories might be calories, but the wrong kind of calories will have you gaining the wrong kind of weight.

I beleive that we are not saying that weight gainers dont work...because they do make you gain weight..but from a weight gainer how much of that is fat?? i mean take out the protein and you might as well eat a chocolate cake....but for those that dont really care about gaining alot of fat..then i guess that would be the way to go...

I do not understand why lots of people are anti weight gainers. I use them with my regular meals because it is easier when you use them to consume the daily amount of calories you required each day. They work fine for me and I get good results from the shakes. The kind I use is Twin Labs Gainers Fuel 2500.

def. true...if you're a weakling starting out I recommend them, if you're already over 210-220 they really aren't the kind of weight you want to be putting on
