Best way to lose belly fat

no cardio, it sucks. you can burn cals without jeopardizing muscle with sprints, as suggested above. also, curcuits burn more calories than a normal workout in a given amount of time. you might not gain much size on a curcuit, but you shouldn't lose much, and you'd lose some flab.

the best way to lose belly fat is to lose fat, period. the best way to do that is to take in WAY more calories than you burn.

or maybe it's the other way around. yeah. right, but not WAY less...just enough to produce a decent caloric deficit. i won't tell you what decent is, though. i'm indecent.

and also fat.

but whatever you do, do it gradually. i.e. lower calories a few hundred at a time, stay there as long as you keep losing, then maybe lower a bit more as necessary. same with cardio...if you do it, 2-3 modest sessions a week at most. see if that works. and not necessarily in the morning. making the minimal amount of change you need to produce results is probably best if you're not in a hurry to lose fat and want to spare muscle.

i don't know, i'm just regurgitating and guessing. it's almost time to leave work and there's a french guy with a gun to my head.

ok, im 6' 215 about to start a variation of 5x5 workout, cause i need to gain overall size and strength. was in a bulking phase and gained about 15 lbs but just wanted to lose the fat i gained but keep the muscle. i play football and my overall is to get to 220-225 by august without gaining alot of fat that might slow me down.

I put 100% into the lifts, but I think I was boxing 2-3 days a week. THis was on 2400 cals a day, clean cals.

First run didn't do Cleans at all. Did Monday: Squat/Bench/Row, Wed: Squat/Deadlift/Military, Fri: Squat/Bench/Row

I train Oly now (preparing for a meet), so I do full cleans of a variation like hangs multiple times a week - I train 5x per week now - 4 Oly sessions and one Chest/Arm/Ab day at a traditional gym.

yea, im trying to set up a 5x5 with squats deadlifts bench hang clean/ power clean. with a 4 day split.

i have a question about cardio. if want to lose fat but keep and gain more muscle, how should i set up my cardio? from what ive been told sprints are the best. should i do them on off days before/after lift? and if i want to avoid losing muscle should i drink protein before?

Just make it 2 push days and 2 pull days...

I have done:

Mon: Squat 5x5, Flat Bench 5x5, Decline Ab 3x20
Tue: Power Clean 8x3, Deadlift 5x5, Jump Shrug 6x5
Wed: Off
Thur: Squat 4x5, 1x3, FLat Bench 4x5, 1x3, Decline Ab 3x20
Fri: Power Snatch, Pendlay Row 5x5, Snatch Grip Shrug 6x5

I would typically go in on Saturday and do Arms and Calfs and really :rainbow: it up...lol
