Best way to do cardio for fat loss

Suspension said:

Same here! The only time I have ever gotton down to 6% BF, it was from high intensity cardio. 20 minutes, 3 times per week.

So, people...quit bein so lazy and bust your ass for once. HIIT works better than moderate cardio, and all the new research supports that fact.

Good work bro!
6% is an achievement FOR SURE

Suspension is 100% right, stop being lazy, put some intensity into your cardio, eat properly and you WILL lose fat. No doubt about it ;)

Yeah. Im back up to about 7.2-7.5% I have not been regularily doing cardio. However, over the past few weeks ive been heading down to the local track for some HIIT cardio in preparation for my photo shoot. Ill keep ya all posted!

been doin it for a week now, about 5 times a weeks for 20min, at about 170BPM. Went from 207 to 211. Diet could be better though. about 200mg of DNP a day thrown in there should take care of that...

What if you were to do 20-30 mins of intense cardio(running, stairstepper, etc.) and then finished off with 30 mins of moderate walking on the treadmill. Would that work better than just the 20-30mins?

Dan Duchaine wrote about cardio in one of his dirty dieting newsletters. He said doing moderate intensity cardio for 30-40 minutes was the best way to burn fat. He said to keep your heartrate in the 60-80 % range the whole time. He based this on the fact that running at a high intensity puts you in an anaerobic state, where the body cant take in enough oxygen to supply the muscles and the stored carbs are burnt instead. When running at a moderate inrensity you remain in an aerobic state. This means the means the body can take in enough oxygen to to burn fat stores as energy. If someone has a link to that newsletter please post it, i think i forgot most of the info

why did i even click on this thread lol, i knew it was just going to be opinon after opinion. this has been going on for agessss.

Bro. I wish I could remember all the sites ive visited, or magazines ive read, that has determined HIIT to be far superior method of fat loss...Ill try to dig em up...

I would like to ask you guys a question about this!!

I know that it is not good to do you aerobic workouts after your weights session and they should ideally be about 8-12 hours aprt but....if you do not have time then is it still ok do do
HIT after a weights session?

Thgis has confused me for some time, I often do 30 mins on crosstrainer and stepper or do some hill walkin on the treadmill...do you think I could change this to HIT?

HIIT after weights is extremely difficult. Your body is already depleted its glycogen from your workout.

Myself, I cannot produce enough energy after my workout to do HIIT, so I do it on the days I dont work out...

OR

you could do HIIT in the AM, and train in the PM.

Cardio is a very individualized thing. Being mostly ectomorphic, I find that tweeking my diet can give me that desired look. My buddy the endomorph will beat me in size, but will be out there almost everyday huffing and puffing just to have some semblance of a 6-pack.

I think cardio has been highly overrated through the years especially around women who love to weigh themselves day in and day out.

Personally, I love to jog, but must use it sparingly or my already small frame will never give me the bulk I want. Jogging leaves me with a peaceful feeling I don't get from lifting.
